  1. All in favor of Howard around here...

It occurs to me to wonder if the builders steamed the planks for the siding to bend them.

I’m not sure whether to put this into the “Grass is always greener on the other side of the fence” or the “To see ourselves as others see us” file. It is somewhat heartening in either case.

  2. Two or three weeks ago I mention that there was no Bernie meeting within 10 miles of Oak Park. When I looked today, there were three within Oak Park itself, with one already "sold out." I signed up for one of the others.

Why am I not surprised by Bernie's popularity in Oak Par,?

    1. That's super! There was a meeting the next town over, but now there's one right here in town; so I signed up too. I would have hosted, but the timing was terrible for me, with son and his family moving into their house two days later and so much yet to get done…!

  3. Bernie's a trooper! He's no spring chicken. But he seems to have achieved nearly rockstar status. Who'd'a thunk? :D

  4. I've always liked Bernie. Did I think he'd ever be doing this? Nope. And I pray he really pushes/pulls Hill's arse to the left, big time. Letting her *see* how many of us there are cannot hurt. Even a little.

  5. Today I received an invitation to attend a meeting to watch a broadcast appearance by Bernie on July 29th; I will probably be at work, but in Fresno! Good. I also received a (presumed) fund-raising letter from the HRC campaign. No, Ms Clin...[Egad--freudian slip; I typed Clingon] Clinton; this is not "our" moment. OK, I'll open and peruse it... Hmmm.... more along the lines of a tearjerker; at least it isn't one of those phoney "survey" letters. It sounds a little desperate, although that could be my overactive imagination. Or is that intentional, to win my sympathy? Well, I will take it as an inspiration to send Bernie a little love.

    1. I get whole bunches of fundraising letters. They tend to fall into two distinct groups: "Things are going great, Great, GREAT! Help put us over the top." and, "Help! Help! Help! Everything is falling apart. If you don't step up we'll be crushed." I suppose both work for some people.
