  2. I was so tired last night that I kept dozing while sitting up. So I flopped into bed and didn't get up until 11:00am! I'm actually still a little sleepy, but deep down I'm rested. I can only wish the same for my sons and daughters-in-law, who are still moving boxes and furniture today…third straight day. This is because they are moving two longtime households (one son and d-i-l's and her mother's into one). Their new place also has an apartment, and friends are also moving in to that part. We old folks just didn't have the stamina for a third long day. I am sorry to be missing seeing three of our Grands again, though!

Tomorrow I am bringing a painting of my mother's to a man who cleans and restores paintings for museums…! He will clean and restore it for me. I already have the frame picked out at the art shop that will frame it for me afterwards. I'm extremely excited, as Mom won a blue ribbon for this painting of Wickford Harbor (RI), and one week after she painted it (back in the 60's), they tore down the old dock and put up a modern one. It will hang in our dining room on the same wall where her painting of boats in November hangs. That was painted in the same village, but across the road from Wickford Harbor. These are my two favourite paintings of Mom's, and I watched her paint them!

  4. Another frigid August day!

  5. Hi Listener and Puddle!

Not frigid here by any means, but certainly cooler than one might expect for August.

Yes, Vivvie is amazing. Very determined, that's for sure.

Listener, with regard to what we were discussing on the last thread: Let's put it this way. I would find it humiliating to undergo a vaginal exam while bleeding heavily. Also, since I now have no way at all of predicting even twenty-four hours in advance whether or not I will be bleeding, I do not feel at all comfortable making an appointment. As things are, I just have to go on the assumption that what is happening is due to my reproductive system preparing to shut down and not to early signs of uterine cancer.

    1. Cat, a GYN doc sees this all the time; there's nothing "unclean" about it at all. I understand your reticence but it's far less bad than you'd feel if you become hospitalised or worse because you waited! Bleeding can be deadly. I am serious!! This is no time to be making assumptions!

  6. Heard about the earthquake in California. I hope Alan was too far away to be affected by it!

  7. So, I'm formulating a quiz question:

What blonde bombshell, who introduced "The Look of Love" in the 1967 movie "Casino Royale" and had such hits as "You Don't Have to Say You Love Me" and "Son of a Preecher Man" teamed up with B.J. Thomas in 1988 to sing the theme From "Growing Pains," ""As Long as We Got Each Other?"

    Correct Answer: Dusty Springfield
    ----

Now, could you guys name for me three more singers popular in the '60s, '70s and/or '80s who could also be described as blonde bombshells? If not, of course, I could change the descriptor to British Pop star or something like that. But I'd sort of like to have four blondes if possible.
