  2. We're currently getting our predicted severe thunderstorm, with lots of hail.

    1. Fairly brief, as is typical in the Midwest. Not really a lot of rain, just hail. Not like the thunderstorms I knew in Arkansas so many decades ago.

  3. No trip to San Diego this week; headphone auditions I had planned on down there will have to wait. But the little headphone amplifier I ordered came in. Working up to my birthday (or Christmas) present.

Rumors of rain, snow in the mountains here; then it will warm up again.

  4. Okay, here I am briefly to say…

That wasn't MY breakfast; I think it was a photo taken by my daughter-in-law. I have sent it over to her with the question about the garnish. She waitresses at The Public House Restaurant in Hinesburg, Vermont, and I think that was where it was taken. They are known for localvore and organic, so it's all the more likely that's who it was. Here's the photo page from their website, and I see something that may be the same garnish: http://hinesburghpublichouse.com/photos

No more squeaky fourth step!! Mah*Sweetie thanks you, Alan! He did very much the same thing you recommended, except that instead of finishing nails, he used deck screws! That way he could use his drill and it didn't require banging. We are so excited that the squeak that was there for about 25 years is finally gone. The kids won't believe it! Ha!

ALL the painting is done. Except…we aren't completely happy with how it turned out. Satin finish is hard to apply without streak marks in a hallway. We don't like flat paint, as it shows every finger print. A few pictures hung and it won't bother us so much. But there's one thing I may have to repaint because the colour brown that we were given is lighter and more yellow than the swatch!

Dentist appt in the morning (just a cleaning), then the person who made our couch pillows is bringing them! Youngest visits tomorrow evening, then one more day to move out all our stuff before the carpets go in on Friday! Can't wait until it's done!!
