  1. Howard's first.

But is this the first day of spring? It snowed overnight. Temps have edged above freezing as the equinox approaches, though.

  2. This is indeed the day, Bill.

Sometimes Spring comes in on tiptoe.

  3. ...or sideways. Right now we have a little snow squall blowing sideways. It was raining this morning, and I saw one peek of sunshine. I'll take it. No subzeros in sight! :-)

  4. Penny's job is somewhat up in the air, although it seems she will still have a job. She works for an agency that provides "after-hours reception" services to a manufacturing plant. Yesterday the owner of the agency sent a "letter of suspension" saying the agency hadn't been paid and services would cease an hour before the end of Penny's Sunday shift. But the head of the manufacturing company says they still want the services and if nothing else they'll put Penny and her co-workers on their own payroll. Not really clear what's going on, but I suspect some sort of brinksmanship in connection with a negotiation process. Brinksmanship that could backfire on the agency.

    1. Thanks; it was really fascinating how the two species of bees were attracted to two different types of flowers.

The river is quite low; there is snow on the mountains, but not much. We went to Oakland yesterday and the fields and hills had enough grass for the cattle and sheep to be grazing, but nothing like normal.

    2. "Coevolution is the the mutual evolutionary influence between two species (the evolution of two species totally dependent on each other). Each of the species involved exerts selective pressure on the other, so they evolve together. Coevolution is an extreme example of mutualism."

    1. Happy for your nice first day of Spring, puddle. We loved that movie too. You need to watch it about five times to catch it all. :-)
