  2. Speaking of cats:

    Awesome News!

Mizzen & Spinnaker had a checkup yesterday, and are both VERY healthy: pink gums, clear eyes and nose, ears look good, heartbeat fine, and their bellies feel just how they should. :-D The only issue, which is common at this age, is that they are fat kitties. Spinnaker weighs 10.16lbs, and for the first time ever Mizzen weighs more than Spinnaker at 10.20lbs! So they figured out for us how much each needs to get eventually to 9lbs for Spinnaker and 8.5lbs for Mizzen. We will give them chicken broth between feelings if they seem hungry, and get them some toys which make them work for food. It'll all work out fine. =^. .^= =^. .^=

We are so happy!! Healthy, happy kitties!! They will turn 11 months old next week. Amazing!

    1. Bill, did you notice that Mizzen (the darker, striped kitty) has her paw on the mousepad? LOL!

    2. I noticed that she had her paw on the computer. Partially because I rarely use laptops I didn't realize that was the MOUSEpad.

  6. Cloudy much of the day here, but warm and a nice day for gardening; I built a little shelf for some doves to build a nest on, underneath an eave. Last year they tried to make a nest there in the rain gutter, but there really wasn't enough room. We also worked on the weeds--eradicating and spraying same.

Past week VERY demanding work-wise; this weekend is for catching up on consulting work and recovery. Diet going well-- I seem to be losing a steady two pounds per week with no significant difficulty. All the weight I packed on during my medical adventures in 2009-2010 (like about 20-25 pounds) is gone, and now I plan to take off another 15-20 pounds, which will take me down below my weight at marriage. Tomorrow (Sunday) morning I have a nice "real" breakfast with my better half--that's part of the diet.

I continue to learn more about my ancestors who settled near Toronto in 1793; I have joined the settlers' descendants' association. Some discrepancies in old records, but most can be worked out. Quite incredible, really. I found my great great grandfather recorded in an 1803 census at the age of one month.

Also, kudos on your genealogy finds!! That's wonderful news!

  8. Thank you, listener. I mention the diet here to put psychological pressure on myself...
