Happy Birthday Howard Dean!

Howard Dean begins the day in Myanmar, where he has been protesting human trafficking.

"Sun Nov 18: Bus back [from Myanmar] to central Bangkok
We plan to be back in central Bangkok by 5pm, but recommend that, wherever possible, those of you leaving the country soon after the Walk book your departing flights for Mon Nov 19."

Once again, thank you Howard Dean!

    1. Apparently no one knows precisely where that infographic came from. Book Patrol saw it as a tweet and reposted it due to the admittedly impressive graphics. But some of the numbers, especially for The Moon Is a Harsh Mistress, are clearly absurd.

    2. I almost wonder if it started out as a joke and then was picked up as straight info by uninformed idiots. But one would think Publishers Weekly would notice that the figures were, shall we say, strange?

    1. I'm not sure what, as a practical matter, "stand with" means in this case. I couldn't begin to tell you how many decades it has been since I bought a Hostess product.

    2. Bill, I have never bought a Hostess product in my life, and have no intention of starting now. "Stand with" puzzled me somewhat too, but I think the point is simply to get as many signatures as possible to demonstrate solidarity.

  8. Puddle, you might appreciate this discussion of Lorenz Hart's lyrics by Irving Berlin. I found it delightful and so simple yet profound.
