  2. Most of New England is still talking about last Tuesday's 4.0 earthquake.

Reposting from the end of the last thread...
Alan! Guess what! Toward the end of the wedding reception, around 8pm, we all felt shaking and thought it must be another New England earthquake. But the shaking lasted a good two minutes and didn't rise and fall in intensity. So we wondered what else it might be. Finally we learned from one of the servers that it was the washing machine near the poolhouse beneath us, on spin cycle...!! LOL!

We joked that here in New England we only get earthquakes about the intensity of a washing machine on spin cycle! Truth be told, there have been two 7's here! (Turn of the last century, and in the 1920's. So maybe we're due too.)

    1. LOL listener.

Mum and Sis felt and were scared by the earthquake, I noticed it but didn't bay much attention and Dad didn't feel it at all. Takes all kinds, I suppose.

  4. Arrgh. My peace is destroyed every time I open my email and see one about Obama and Romney being tied. Makes my stomach roll over.

    2. As for the polls and news clips...remember that by the time you read about them they are already superceded by what is happening this minute. Also, many polls don't take into account people who have cell phones. Hang in there.

  6. Alan here, blogging from the Rose Garden Inn in Berkeley (court tomorrow 0900).

I gather from politicalwire.com and talkingpointsmemo.com that Obama did well in the debate tonight.

Paul Begala opened his big mouth to say that it looked like Obama was giving up on North Carolina.

We are finally getting a series of winter storms; it was raining as we left Fresno and got worse as we went, but then cleared up and was beautiful most of the way.

TTFN; shower and then some work on a job in Washington state.

    1. Hi Alan!

Yes, Obama did great in tonight's debate: very present, engaged and Presidential.
Moreover, he told more truth than Romney (andisanyonesurprised?).

But don't take my word for it:

  7. Okay, so just because this week already had more stress in it than I can shake a tree at...

Just so you know, Ally has scans again on Wednesday.
    Pray tuned.

And while you're praying or sending well being vibes, I cherish your companioning prayers for my friend Kim who is having a double (bilateral) mastectomy today.

  9. So now that the Bears game is over, we're getting a thunderstorm. No rain at all during the game.
