  4. Hi guys!

Wish I could tell you I've been doing really wild things, but nothing could be further from the truth. The most excitement I've been engaged in lately has been reading a series by Jasper Fforde chronicling the adventures of literary detective Thursday Next. I'm currently on No. 7, the latest installment. Then it's back to the old problem of having to wait till next year for the new book. Then again, it's nice to have a new book to be waiting for.

Dad is getting ready for Winter. He finished working on the windows, much to my relief. Mine was the last to be finished, and some of the nightly lows have dipped into the twenties. It's much more comfortable with my window back in place.

Esme remains frail, but she's active and content and is eating better than she was for a while. Thanks to everybody for the concern and prayers. I really appreciate it.

  5. Glad to hear the puss cat is doing better. xox

My cold seems to be clearing (as long as I don't try and stop the meds, lol!). So perking up here, a bit.

    1. Somehow I saw your puss cat remark but not your message about feeling a bit better. So happy to hear it!! :-D

  7. Thanks for the kind words about the photos! Tonight's is worth staying up for. It was a real hoot to see a balloon and "chase" and arrive in time to see it land! Best of all is that we had Vermont*Grand with us. She was QUITE impressed! Ha!

  8. Cat...I'm so glad you came by. I've been wondering...

puddle, how are you feeling tonight? Any improvement? I've had a cold too, and it lasted two weeks.

  9. Glad to hear that both Emma kitty-kat and puddle's cold are better.

Major excitement around here was a 45-min power outage. Apparently something wrong with the transformer behind our house, although it affected several square blocks.

Still waiting for dinner even though it is 11:15. Marc made pizza tonight and as usual experimented with the dough. Extreme example of the fact that not every combination of dough ingredients will rise.

  10. Well, I just now got home from the Library. When we're having a meeting at the Library on trash night, I'm supposed to collect all the trash and put it outside in the maintenance closet, then at the very end of the night set it out for the trash guys. We used to just set it out, but the Director decided that people shouldn't have to walk past the trash when coming to a meeting. Occasionally, like tonight, I get busy and forget to leave myself a note to remember to put the trash out. Tonight all of us forgot. I remembered at 12:05am! I do not like going back over and setting the trash out after all the parking lot lights are off for the night...! But I got the deed done. I might go renegade and just start setting the trash out early like we used to. I can't simply wait and collect the trash at the end of the night because some of it is in the room where the meeting takes place. We need a better, simpler system.
