Two Cute!!

  1. Howard's da bomb of ma heart! Still.

Beautiful cool quiet and gray Sunday taking place here.

Occurred to me last night that I'm really tired of this election. . . . I know it'll pass, but just now, bathing in and being spattered by the hate being spewed from (alas) both sides is beginning to take a toll on ma soul. Doesn't matter that they're first or worse, I just wish it would *stop*. . . .

    1. I understand that the so-called battleground states are getting carpet-bombed with political advertising; most of the country is not. I've had a few fundraising letters and that's about it. Of course California is a foregone conclusion (ditto my gerrymandered electoral districts). All we are is a cash register with an open till. I fully approve of Gov. Dean's idea that the Democratic Party should run in every district, even though it never came to fruition here. Ah, well.

    2. My impression is that they're looking to Illinois as a source not only of money but of shoe leather. I just went to RSVP to an invitation to a 3-hr "Camp Obama" here in Oak Park. The invitation came Thursday, but I wasn't totally surprised that the "Camp" was already full.

The e-mail list for science fiction con-runners has been incredibly busy the past few days. Hardly had time to do anything else but read the e-mails. But one of the threads has given me some good ideas for what can be done to help deaf members -- and maybe those not so deaf -- enjoy the con.

  5. Y'know, Alan, I have barely been able to keep up with the news lately. But this one is really scary! And I don't like the sound of relations between China and Japan lately. How does Miyoko view that situation?
