  2. Great pic, listener! Seldom happens, and when it does, *very* hard to photograph. Great job!

  3. Wow! Supposed to be 72ยบ on Thursday! At this rate, we'll have summer before we get to spring. . .

On my way to town in just a bit (already all tarted up, lol!). Just grocery shopping, and if the *cat* wasn't one meal away from starvation, I'd prolly skip it. Or at least delay a couple more days. BTW, he's doing sorta okay, but. He doesn't seem to be hurting, but he's hardly traveling at all anymore. I'm going to go ahead and move his litter box into the bathroom so he doesn't even need to do that. At the same time, wondering if I'm actually doing him a favor, or not. Maybe he *needs* the exertion of getting out to the box? Is making it easier going to speed the deterioration? I hate that there are no good answers, just guessing and hoping and praying. He *is* complaining a bit more, but is still willing to purr when loved. I don't pick him up at all anymore -- having been seriously bitten the last three times I tried: I'm reading this as I can't pick him up at all without hurting him, so I've stopped. Going to work at finding a way to spend some time outside with him on Thursday.

  5. Today, on the way home from the library I discovered there is little doubt that the majority of people believe we all have ESP. How do I know this? Simple. Not once, at any intersection, were the drivers facing me using their turn signals. Therefore they knew without a doubt that I would just *know* whether they were going straight or turning left.

  6. Lol! I had a Driver's Ed teacher once, who said: turn lights blinking mean ONE thing: the lights are in working order. Wise man.

  7. Lest you doubt spring is but a month away: TODAY -- Pollen: 3.50 out of 12

  8. I see those same drivers every day. They are counterbalanced by the overzealous drivers who practice random acts of kindness by doing unexpected things like stopping (with you coming up behind them) to let a car coming out of a side road go first, especially if that car could not possibly have right of way. They do this random act without recognising that they are creating a serious hazard, and that the rules of the road that we all agreed to follow actually serve the purpose of diminishing the unexpected, and thus diminishing the number of accidents!

puddle, what your driver's ed instructor said is all the more true on the interstate. It's amazing how many people forget to turn off their turn signal! You want to pass them, but they have a left blinker on. LOL!

  9. AND THE REALLY REALLY BIG NEWS OF MY DAY IS:

  10. Son*in*Maine FINALLY got the date for his PhD defense!!! It's Friday afternoon, March 23rd!!
    And there was great rejoicing!!

    {Prayers gratefully appreciated for the event, too!}

  11. The fact that I went to the dentist and had no cavities, and even the expensive xrays will be billed to our new insurance, all pales in comparison to Son's news!!!

Mah*Sweetie is so happy he's a little afraid of it...we've had SUCH a Sabbath Year, he said, that he feels like he ought to wear a suit of armour for protection.

I must say that I'm a bit disappointed in Howard Dean at the moment. He put his name at the top of a letter from the Democratic Governors Association. Nothing particularly wrong with the letter as such. But it was mailed in an envelope that said, "Urgent Warning: Friend, the Republican plan to take over the Illinois state legislature for years to come is in full force."

Anyone who knows anything about Illinois politics knows that any such plan, if it existed, would be foolish beyond belief. Why would the DGA think it could get away with anything so obviously false? And why wouldn't Howard pay enough attention to see what they were doing and pull his endorsement?

  13. Prolly didn't *show* him the envelope?

  14. What could go wrong on the second day of spring? Nevertheless, requested prayers ensuing.

  16. Hey Cat--howsabout this?

"Using NASA’s famed Hubble Space Telescope, scientists have determined that an alien world located just 40 light years from Earth is unlike anything found before: A world composed primarily of steam."

  17. Susan--re ruptured Baker's cyst, the main symptom aside from pain is marked swelling of the lower leg. I thought it was phlebitis, but was wrong. Was literally digging a ditch [in very hard ground] when I did it.

  18. Aw, thanks!

It really was hard to get a photo of, because the light was so bright and tended to wash out the photos.

  19. I think it's wise to move the box. It's not as though his prognosis would improve with more exercise.

  20. This is one opera we want to have over with! LOL!

I agree that they probably didn't. But ideally he should have wanted to check it out.

  23. Thanks Alan. Sure hope mine holds together. Oh... and did yours form again after the rupture?

  24. Well, if all the politicians keep blowing hot air, Earth will be made of steam too!

Who was it said, "The universe is not only strangers than we think, it is stranger than we can think?"

  26. * Super Grateful!!! *

  27. Maybe. But how often is the envelope being used even worth asking about?
I'd say they should be ashamed of themselves for abusing their supporters.

  30. Frankly, I don't know. After hobbling around on crutches for a while it seemed to heal up and hasn't given me any problems since. Doc decided I should have X-rays of knee today--I will be happy if surgery is not indicated, even if recovery takes time. I'm having a hard time figuring out what sort and amount of movement makes it better and worse...
