  1. Howard Dean is First, even on the day after his birthday.

Silly me! First I posted a Birthday thread for Howard a month early.
Then I set one to post a day late!
Thanks to whomever added Birthday Flat Howard to yesterday's thread!!!

  2. Hey, listener--we're not pernickity!

Is this a regular occurrence? I worked the swing shift for a number of years, and it's OK for a single person. No so much with a family.

  3. Yep, M-F.

It's not fun, but he's always been a night owl.
I'm a morning bird. Oh well.

  4. Bitterly cold overnight (22º), dawned bright and clear. Took its time to "warm up" (now 40º) Whew! Even Beau didn't want to stay out long. Asked and was let back in, and slept the morning away in the toasty house. Now that it's "warm" he asked out.

Pigs tails cooked up fine, have been deboned (lotsa meat on a pig's tail), meat shredded fine and added back to noodle stock. Ramen noodles seem to slide down easy without blenderizing, as long as they're very well overcooked. Got a LOT of different flavors from the Oriental food store -- tangy, pork, savory, shrimp, hot chicken -- more than your regular food stores offer. . . . Was reading up on 'em yesterday. Though the Japanese consider them a Chinese food item, the Chinese (rightly) consider them a Japanese idea. Only catch is that any day with Ramen in it is not going to be an Atkins day. So when this stock is done, I'd best put 'em away for later -- at least until my legs have finished shedding water

  5. Rule of the Universe: Larks always marry owls.

  6. That's okay. In my younger days I found it pretty easy to bend to the general need of the family. Five are night owls and only two of us are day owls/ ;-)

But now that I'm older and the need is 50/50, I find it harder to bend. But I sure don't want to give up greeting him when he comes home from work. I may adopt evening naps.

  7. In my view, our bodies ought to give us only one challenge at a time!
