  2. Sound quality of the audible.com book on the built-in Kindle speakers is OK. With my Grado SR60 headphones it is VERY GOOD, and with the iGrado headphones (their small ones, intended for use with iPods and such like) it's much more than just OK, although not quite as good as the SR60's. The iGrados blow ear buds away. Totally. I think I have tested the Kindle Keyboard 3G plus WiFi enough; only thing left to check is how Japanese books look. I am leaning more and more towards getting a second one for backup before they quit selling them. Definitely a keeper.

  3. Alan ~~ Can you download programs to read all e-book formats? Or are you stuck with getting your e-books from Amazon? The reason I got a Windows 7 netbook is because I knew I could read all formats with it.

  5. I would. Even with clothes sometimes, if I'm finding that I adore something (early), I'll go back and get another (or three or four if feasible) ~~ so right now, working on my second terrycloth wrap bathrobe from 1975; Third pair of faux suede Ugg's knockoffs from 2004; and have about a couple of months left in a pair of straw sandals (# 3) which were my last purchase at Wal-Mart in 2001.

  6. Heard what I thought were raindrops pattering against the window. Only it turns out it's a mixture of rain-sleet-snow.

  7. I have 9 (count 'em!) different colours of LLBean's Comfort Corduroy Big Shirt. I can't recommend it enough. And it's even better if you use ALL's new (no dyes or perfumes) "Snuggle" liquid softener. I wear one nearly every day to work!

  8. Wow! Maybe it'll turn all to snow overnight! Lucky you! We're still waiting, here. The snow came as near as St. Johnsbury to my east and Brandon to my south. Jessica may have gotten some in Rutland.

  9. Well, I've caught Mah*Sweetie's miserable cold. Work went okay, though I was a bit heavy headed. Got the groceries after work and am so glad to be home. Now to clean deep, as I have a seeker coming for spiritual guidance tomorrow. Then Middle*Granddaughter is coming for the evening (and Mah*Sweetie will be at work, so I'll be on duty solo). I gave a "full disclosure" warning to her Daddy tonight and he's still okay about bringing her. I hope I can keep her from catching this by being super careful. We are going to do a lot of Hallowe'en related things. The house will surely be trashed by the time we're done. But at least I get to get up early and go to work on Saturday morning. 8-)

The best comfort of all is that it's just a cold.

  10. I just checked the calendar. Halloween is Monday. And an on-line search of our local weekly newspaper shows that official trick-or-treat hours are Monday -- not, as I more than half expected, Sunday when Penny is at work.

  11. Glad to hear Penny won't have to miss the fun! :-)
