  5. Got a sweet deal with my up road neighbor. . . . She's raising chickens for eggs, and selling what she doesn't use for a dollar/dozen. I just gave her $25 for what she doesn't want. Beautiful little dark brown (Rhode Island Reds) jewels. Three days old at the max. Delivered to my front porch. Who could ask for more? Not me.

  7. So I saw an online news article about the Chupacabra in Texas. (Forgive me, but I don't think the creature they showed looked ugly. I thought it looked like an emaciated dog is all.) Anyway, it was a video with some text. I watched that video then other video links appeared. So I chose the one about Cheney's heart surgery. The amusing thing is that the text for the earlier article remained in place even though the video changed. The last line of the previous article was visible at the top of the Cheney video. It read:

'Below you can watch the locals discuss their findings, but beware. The images of the creature are quite nasty."

Good thing I wasn't sipping my iced tea just then!

  13.

I was thinking if you want chickens you can have my neighbour's three. They are such a nuisance...always in other peoples' yards (including mine) foraging under the bird feeders, intimidating the songbirds and eating the new blossoms on flowers and vegetables!! Their owners call that "free range" but it isn't free if I'm paying extra for vegetable plants, bird seed and flower sets! If only they cared at all about the expressed concerns of their neighbours.

  14. Gosh, I guess I really needed to vent about that. Ha!
Went over to their house 20 minutes ago to ask them to come collect their wayward brood, but no one answered the door.

  16. I know you can't, but couldn't some of the other neighbors talk a little "chicken fricassee" with the owners?

  17. Thanks, Cat! I enjoyed it too. :-)

  18. Folks have. The neighbours just say they're working on it and nothing changes.

  19. Venting is good. Very important, in fact.

Can't you call the animal control officer to come and take these straying chickens to, well, I'm not quite sure the pound would be the right place, but someplace safe for a while?
