Some days involve a long hard climb

These are actually the stairs from the boats in the Bay up to the road,
across which is the Sailing School building.

  1. Howard's first, I heard. Anyone hear here anything else?

  2. Off to the (SF) Bay Area (Hayward) in the AM, with a brief stop at the Orchid Barn on the way. Long day at work today because I couldn't leave the things I would normally do tomorrow undone.

Daughter will be moving out of her apartment in Berkeley come August 1st; two weeks from now we will go apartment hunting with her near her new job.

Thanks for the thought, puddle; but the pillow seems to do the trick. Will see if I get drowsy on the road tomorrow, but even though I have been recovering from lack of sleep over the weekend I have not suffered from my customary daytime drowsiness. A pillow sure beats one of those mini-respirators, if it will do the job.

Now for a short look at the news [EEEEK!!] and then to bed. We can sleep in a bit--if we're on the road by 9:00 AM that will be fine.

  3. Beautiful radiant green day here. Mid seventies, small wind. Noticed yesterday that every row in the garden the kid/kiddles planted is alive and growing. Makes me wanna make dirt, lol!

  5. Arrrgggghhhhhhh!!!!

    Cat, throw me a towel!!!

Wouldyoubelieve the wonderful Gubernatorial candidate we are volunteering for hired none other than Joe Trippi today as his campaign strategist?!!!! Where do I go to throw up? I am sooo frustrated!! Now what?? I want to tell him I'm disappointed but the die is cast. My opinion wasn't in big demand in advance, of course. I swear I still believe Trippi stole my DEAN button, 'cause it was missing from my coat hanging in the closet at HQ the day Trippi left.

Man, I had no idear when I posted today's front page photo (days ago!) that this would truly be a day of hard climbing. Work was also a bit of a struggle. =Sigh=

  6. I actually like Joe. He was wonderful to Edwin and I when we met him in NYC, in 2005. ChrisNYC adores him, and I think for good reason. And I doubt he stole the button, lol!

  7. He may even be a nice guy, puddle, but he certainly advised Howard poorly...to spend more money and faster than Dean would like to have and so on.

  8. I don't expect to solve that one in this lifetime. I don't think I'd have ever heard about Howard had it not been for Joe. But I never thought he was the Jedi, and he was pretty much almost gone by the time I started blogging. I do think that Joe simply stumbled onto using the internets. I certainly see no evidence that HQ has *any* understanding of what they so easily destroyed. Kos has reaped the benefit of that.

  9. Are you kidding? Howard is the be all and end all of first!

  12. "Joe Trippi is one of the most sought-after political strategists and an enduring figure on the presidential campaign circuit. He worked for Ted Kennedy, Walter Mondale and Gary Hart and turned Howard Dean into an unlikely front runner in 2004."

Oh come on! T. Kennedy, Mondale, Hart and Dean all have two things in common: Trippi worked for them...and...they lost! I just do not feel good about him working for Doug Racine's campaign. I don't even feel like going to the office and helping with mailings, though I probably will Not with the same zest, because I have this feeling of impending doom.

  16. The "P" in BP stands for Pandora...
New estimate says 1 to 2 million gallons are spilling each DAY.

  17. So, vote with your feet. Boycott and make sure you tell him why. It probably won't make any difference, but it's important to let him know why you're unhappy and no longer inclined to help out.

  18. Have you seen a solid answer to the question of whether an appreciable fraction of the oil is being recovered? Seems to me when Ray asked that the other night on The News Hour, the BP shill he was talking to dodged all around the question.
