  3. Susan--

I'm readily confused [grin]. I thought the things you espoused, like helping those in need and treating others as we would want to be treated, etc. were very conservative... while unbridled capitalism, glorification of greed, war, torture, etc. were radical. It's on the right end of the political spectrum that one must look for the majority of the radicals nowadays, and that includes at least 90% of "Democratic" politicians IMO. If one defines "middle of the road" as between the Dems and the GOPers, that would put it somewhere on the right shoulder--with the GOP and not a few Dems driving in the ditch, and most of the Dems in the right lane. Not a few old-time Republicans would nowadays be considered lefties.

Hey puddle! Hi! We missed you!

I haven't checked for a few hours, but early UK exit polls seemed to indicate the Lib Dems hadn't done any better than usual--not enough to be a power in the new Parliament. If so, drat!

The Liberal Democrats are sentimental favorites here (my chair), too. If only because --- Well, they're perpetual outsiders, but they keep on keeping on. But with nobody haviing a majority, even 60-some seats can throw their weight around a bit.

  5. Well I'll be--it seems Homo neanderthalis and Homo sapiens DID mate and produce descendents:

  6. Yeah, I know. I married one of them once upon a time.

If this holds up, it means that Neanderthals and modern humans were different subspecies rather than separate species. Homo sapiens neanderthalensis and Homo sapiens sapiens.

  8. Just saw this on FaceBook:

Charlie Grapski Good news: Case won this morning in Osceola County. Dismissed. That was the false allegation that I failed a drug test. Same case still being tried in Alachua County.

  9. Which means Robert Sawyer was wrong. He'll have to write a new Neanderthal trilogy. *grin*

Did you also see the report about bonobos shaking their heads to indicate no?

  10. Alan, are you kidding? Jesus was a radical if not a downright lefty. LOL

  13. BTW, folks, the Sony Cybershot H20 is a FABULOUS camera!! It has 10.1 megapixels, a zoom, can take videos and is literally the best small camera for low-lighting situations. It also has manual override capability and many other great features. Best of all it comes with a battery and a charger and the memory cards you use for it aren't expensive. My 4GB Memory Stick Pro holds about 800 photos!
