Voting "uncommitted" in Michigan

Group lobbies for uncommitted vote

In the days leading up to Tuesday's primary, Montague and a group of volunteers are trying to get their message out, urging voters to choose "uncommitted" on the ballot.

They're among those who support Democratic candidates whose names won't appear on the ballot - Barack Obama and John Edwards. Hillary Clinton is on the ballot.

The confusion centers on Michigan's decision to move up its primary election to Tuesday for Democratic and Republican candidates. The move upset the national political parties, so some candidates respected the national stance and withdrew.

Write-in candidates will not count since no one officially filed as a write-in. Those votes are often referred to as "spoiled."
