More drama. I called the Bd. of Elections because our ballots were not being shown as returned, even though we dropped them in their drop box on Sunday. Turns out they sent two ballots, one would NOT be counted because of a misprint, and the other WOULD be counted. Not knowing which was which we filled out and dropped off THE WRONG ONES. I talked to the Bd. of Elections today to ask WTF and they said if we could get the GOOD ballots filled out and in their drop box by 7:30 tonight they WOULD be counted. How I managed to have a conversation about this with them without ONE SINGLE CURSE word is amazing. Thank God I had not recycled the ballots and we got them filled out and turned in by 5 p.m. This ballot thing was THEIR mistake and, as I told them, I didn't want my vote lost because of their mistake. Susan (no wonder I have blood pressure problems!)
Oh, it gets even better/s. Just after I typed this I got a call from B of E because I put the wrong I.D. number on my ballot envelope. I mixed up the last four of my SS #s. Gah! I'm just about ready for the old folks home! They emailed me a form to fix it and I will drop that off ASAP. Susan the Hapless.
You really do have to wonder if someone in the B of E was purposely making this difficult! Hurrah for Susan the Valiant for getting her vote in and counted!!
Looks like he'll end with around 89.5% of the vote! The only problem is more than 52,000 more Republicans voted than did Democrats. The Dems need to really get out the vote in November!!
What I sent to my Congressional delegation today...who are all good people: Bernie Sanders, Peter Welch and Becca Balint:
I have three huge concerns that need your effort:
(1) This is to register my outrage that the Administration wants $1,000,000,000,000 (a BILLION $$$$!?!) ostensibly for “security” for the ill-conceived and illegal ballroom, which was purported to be entirely privately funded. This would mean the American people have no real representation on how our money is being used, how OUR White House, the People’s House!, is being co-opted and disparaged.
(2) In addition, I demand that Congress NOT further fund Border Patrol with $72,000,000,000,000 (72 Billion $$$$!!!!) for three more years of horrendous activity which the American people strongly oppose!
(3) The war in Iran is indeed a war, which the President started illegally, and the Administration is now playing semantics, pretending that the 60 days have not passed. The American people can count, and we know the law, and we are furious! Not only has this been a horribly unplanned and terribly executed war, but it has made the whole entire world more unstable and economically unsound. Not only do we have fuel cost issues, but all the money grabbing of this Administration has made the poor in our nation much poorer.
I know you understand and are also opposed to this spending and these unconscionable actions. But we can’t wait for the midterms to stop this madness. We need the Democrats in Congress to work with any reasonable Republicans to do Congress’ job of ending the unchecked power of the Executive Branch, especially with the Supreme Court letting us down.
We need this stopped NOW! This can’t wait until November. Please tell me specifically what is being done about this that has real teeth.

The result: The Democrat, Chedrick Greene 89.5% The Republican, Jason Tunney 39.4% The Independent, Ali Sledz 1.7%
