I walked all the way to the kitchen this morning; first time in quite a while. Short of breath by the time I sat down at the table, but I made it. ----Alan
Two nights this week I slept maybe an hour, due to allergy-related stuffy nose, and only 5 or 6 hours the other nights. So last night I used a nasal spray that constricts blood vessels and slept 9.5 hours. Y'know, I just want to breathe and sleep. Off to see the allergist shortly. Not expecting much help, but we'll see.
Well, guess what the allergist said! Truly, you'll never guess this one. He said that being only stuffy and not sneezy with itchy eyes and so on means my stuffy dry nose is not caused by allergy. He's sending me back to the ENT doc I saw two years ago. Appt is October 20th. I will have to muddle along until then. But I did ask to be on their wait list, so maybe I can get in sooner.
It may be that the inflammation I am feeling can be dealt with using some sort of spray that has cortisone in it, which ENT docs can prescribe. I gather this would not be the sort that dries one out. I sure as heck don't want surgery. Fingers crossed.🤞
Sounds like you have something very similar to my chronically stuffy nose, only worse. As mentioned,a steroid nasal spray mostly but not entirely controls my condition.
Checked in at the Pantry food donation part after I dropped off the toys. They are getting hit hard by this abnormal world we now live in. Donations are down and requests for help are "significantly" up. And I feel sadly sure things will get worse. Susan

Good to hear - the made it to the table part anyway. Susan
DeleteI second what Susan said! We're at that point in life where we don't ask much but what we ask is significant.
DeleteAnd I'll third what Susan said.

DeleteW.A., is there a name for your chronically stuffy nose condition? How was it diagnosed?
DeleteThanks for the crossed toes, Alan. Made me smile! 😊
