That's an adorable pose! When I was in my teens, our bullmastiff, Peggy, used to sleep on a folded sleeping bag next to my bed. When relatives came and were going to sleep in my bed, we washed the sleeping bag so that I could use it on the couch. Once I was settled in, Peggy was pacing around the house looking for her bed. Eventually, with much hesitation, she climbed up and lay on top of me.
So, Congress got a classified briefing today on what actually happened in Iran. R's came on camera and said, yup! totally obliterated. Then Senator Chris Murphy D-CT came on camera and said, Nope! They have nothing to back up that claim.
Shiloh (PhD*Son) first went to Alaska at age 18 for 4 months in the Arctic documenting how bird nests were faring. While there, he and a colleague were lost overnight on the Arctic Ocean when they ran out of fuel and the batteries in their walkie talkies quit as 30kt winds pushed them away from camp in dense fog. I remember him telling us afterward that he realised as they were drifting that he had no life experience for this moment. Long story short, they bumped into a 25ft wide island and spent the night in a tent. But they were found the next day and all was well...except that Shiloh's binoculars bounced overboard on their way back to camp.
Well, I tell you all that to tell you this: After Shiloh's death (22 days ago now), I wrote that story on the KudoBoard where folks he worked with have been posting stories and photos. And guess what! A person wrote a follow-up saying that she was the other person in the Zodiac that went off course, and telling more of the story, which we had never heard! She said she was completely miserable as it rained all night and it was in the teens, and the tent had a tear in it by the door. But Shiloh slept with his head down that end of the tent and held it closed with his hand, so she could stay snug down the other end. In fact, we have started emailing one another, and she added that Shiloh stayed completely calm and handled it well. HE had never told us those details. I'm grateful to hear bits more about him, since we can't make new memories together anymore. But we can hear the memories of others, to fill up our broken hearts.
my oxygen needs are decreasing, but I have weakened. They are talking about taking me to a rehab hospital for a while before discharging me to home. Had some weird electrical problems at our house, but will be taken care of. -----Alan
