I am not afraid of any of these people. I will not be afraid of these people. The whole fetid lot of liars, weirdos, loons, militias, religious nuts, fascists and conspiracy theorists, all of them, need to understand something.

The rest of us are holding the line and we aren’t taking one more effing step backwards to accommodate this insanity, not one.

The exhausted majority is what I’m part of. It’s got Republicans, Democrats, Independents, new voters and new citizens. It’s made up of people of all faiths, creeds, religions and no religion at all. It is a common sense bond and we are sick of the BS, and will not allow a belligerent minority to hijack our country, our families, our kids, our faiths, our communities, our unity, our liberty, our bodies and our future. Never.

  3. May 18, the 45th anniversary of the eruption of Mount St. Helens in WA state. It's one of those "I always remember where I was when I heard it" days. -- nordy

    1. My cousin Eddy lived hear Mt. St. Helens. They had a foot or more of ash in their yard, on their cars, just everywhere, and it was very caustic and abrasive stuff. It took a very long time to get that mess cleaned up.

  4. Trump’s acceptance of Qatar jet gift is ‘definition of corruption’, senator says
    Guardian via Meet the Press:
Donald Trump’s acceptance of a $400m Boeing jet from Qatar is the “definition of corruption”, a leading Democrat said on Sunday, as several senior Republicans joined in a bipartisan fusillade of criticism and concern over the luxury gift.

Chris Murphy, a Democratic senator for Connecticut, condemned the “flying grift” on NBC’s Meet the Press as he assailed the president’s trip to several Gulf states this week that included a stop in Qatar.

“Why did he choose these three countries for his first major foreign trip? It’s not because these are our most important allies or the most important countries in the world,” he said of Trump’s visit to the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia and Qatar. -- nordy

  5. Joe Biden diagnosed with ‘aggressive form’ of prostate cancer

Joe Biden has been diagnosed with prostate cancer, which has spread to the bone, and the former president and his family are reviewing treatment options, his office said in a statement on Sunday.

Guardian: “While this represents a more aggressive form of the disease, the cancer appears to be hormone-sensitive which allows for effective management,” his office said. “The President and his family are reviewing treatment options with his physicians.”

    1. I am so saddened about this.

And that my immediate neighbour, age 94, has just been diagnosed with terminal lung cancer.

    2. Metastisized to bone; I had hoped it was localized.

    3. Even elatively aggressive forms of prostate cancer tend to be slow growing. And while the fact 9t has metastasized is not good, the fact it is hormone sensitive definitely is. Testosterone suppression therapy has halted my prostate cancer in its tracks.

People hear the term "cancer" and do not realize this is a wide variety of different diseases.
