O Holy One, now let us let go –
    as your servant Jimmy Carter
    departs in peace,
    after his one hundred years,
for he has given and worked,
    spoken honest and faithful words,
    led our country with humility,
    taught Sunday School,
    built so many homes,
and opened ways to health care
    all around the world,

    well done, well done,
    this good and faithful servant.

    We receive his departure, sad,
    but with such gratitude,
that we honor his gift to us of keeping lit
a light of hope for all the earth.

We will try because of him
to bring health with equal care
    to all people, protect creation,
    demand wisdom and servanthood
    of those with elected power,
    and build houses of love
    for all of your children,
who need the shelter we can give.

    amen

    2. Biden says Trump could learn ‘decency’ from Jimmy Carter in tribute address
Guardian: Speaking to reporters during a family vacation in the US Virgin Islands, the outgoing US president drew sharp contrasts between Carter’s character and that of his predecessor Trump, who is set to begin a second term in January.

When asked if there was anything Trump could learn from Carter, Biden replied: “Decency. Decency. Decency.” -- nordy

    1. I haven't watched the video yet, but It seems that quite a few people have learned how to push TFG's buttons; he could well be in for an unpleasant as well as ineffective period in office. It doesn't look like smooth sailing for congressional "Republicans" either.

  5. It was so mild today that I was able to open the window in the afternoon. January thaw a few days early?
