Welcome May!

A robin built a nest in the wreath on our front porch.
The nest was so heavy that it tilted the wreath and nest sideways.
So Wil went out and secured it upright, and she was very grateful.

    1. I haven't read the article yet (coffee "perking"), but my first thought is that I am still confounded by how radicalism-- even anarchism-- has come to be called "conservatism." And good for your resident nest fixer-upper!

    2. There are plenty of reports of police arresting pro-Palestinian protesters. I have not come across a single report of police arresting pro-Israeli protesters. I guess pro-Israeli protesters don't break the law, as do those nasty pro-Palestinian types. :P

Comment: I haven't actually heard of any pro-Isreali protester. Can't arrest people who don't exist.

  5. United Methodists Repeal Ban on LGBTQ Clergy [Click]
From Wikipedia article on UMC: [Click] “On January 3, 2020, a group of Methodist leaders proposed a plan to split the United Methodist Church over issues of sexual orientation (particularly same-sex marriage) and create a new traditionalist Methodist denomination. The Global Methodist Church was formed in 2022. Prior to the establishment of the Global Methodist Church, some Methodist congregations had already left the UMC to join the Free Methodist Church, a traditionalist Methodist denomination aligned with the Wesleyan-holiness movement. As of December 30, 2023, the number of UMC churches in the United States that were approved for disaffiliation stood at 7,660. This figure represented approximately one-quarter of the UMC churches in the United States.”

This is HUGE good news for the Methodist clergy members I sit with in spiritual guidance! They have worked so painfully hard for this. This is amazing in such a polarized nation.

    2. I've had meetings today and on the run, so just saw that you had already posted about the ban being lifted. Ha!
It's a truly big deal. The Methodists have been in such pain. A number of congregations have left the fold, and out of compassion the Methodist Church allowed them to go taking some resources with them. So, there are fewer in their ranks who are hostile toward the LGBTQIA community. It's sad, but far more healthy in the pew now.
