  1. I don't follow her, but usually look up her posts when folks here recommend them.

  2. This bit gave me a chuckle:
Along with political consultant Steve Bannon, Epshteyn created a cryptocurrency called “$FJB, which officially stands for “Freedom. Jobs. Business.” but which they marketed to Trump loyalists as “F*ck Joe Biden.” By February 2023, Nikki McCann Ramirez reported in Rolling Stone that the currency had lost 95% of its value.

  3. How we met: ‘I was stranded on a climb. I called for help – and he answered’ [Click] Due to the language barrier, Jane says they asked each other “very direct” questions, which made it easier to get to know one another. “It sounds strange but it meant we were able to be honest about what we wanted from life, without the usual dating complications where nobody says what they mean.” That echoes the experience of me and my sweetie, although there was not any significant language barrier.

    1. It would be an oversimplification to say Penny and I were both chemists, but that was a big part of it.

    2. Had our child been a girl, she would have been Crystal Violet. Which not only is a pair of beaurigul names but is a chemists' in-joke.

    3. We got to use a few alternate names, later on. But the names we never got to use were:
Benjamin Joseph, Abra Beth and Iris Moriah

Trump Arrives at Courthouse for Arraignment
August 3, 2023 at 3:20 pm EDT By Taegan Goddard

Donald Trump arrived at the federal courthouse in Washington to surrender on charges he tried to overturn the 2020 election. He used the underground entrance to avoid television cameras.

Avoiding television cameras? Is the man not well?

“It cannot be stressed enough how much of Trump’s time in the next 15 months could be spent being required, as a criminal defendant, to be present in courtrooms in Miami, Washington, New York and possibly Georgia."

I don’t think there is any "possibly" about Georgia. And although it is customary to be present throughout one's trial, I don’t think it is required.

    1. Nope. People are tried in absencia all the time, though not often in this country. Still, Trump's going to be a busy beaver.
