Should we sign with our blog name or actual name?

    1. They took him on time, and Sis said he seemed relaxed. She met the surgeon. She said he seemed trustworthy. An hour and a half to two and a half hours, depending on what they find. So, now we wait.

I just realised I’ve been thinking of your Dad as “Tom”
because he’s Dad of Cat. 😆

  4. Oh, my goodness! I've been on the phone ever since Sis called at 4:00.

Dad came through the surgery just fine. He will definitely stay in the hospital tonight, and maybe tomorrow night as well. It depends on the bleeding, so Sis said enigmatically.

They found bladder cancer, but apparently it is a non-aggressive type that can be treated in the doctor's office. Sis was vague - something about medicine that is injected... In any case, it can be treated.

The doctor suspects prostate cancer, but will run a biopsy. Sis didn't mention the bladder stone, so presumably that was taken care of.

That all sounds as promising as one could hope for…! I’m heartglad that the surgery is behind you all. Here’s to the right treatment and a good prognosis! Go Dad!! 💙

    2. Considering his youngness coeficient, a night or two in the hospital after all that sounds very reasonable, even if it is far less invasive than it used to be. Most men his age have demonstrable prostate tumors, generally not requiring treatment. A little bleeding, say from the biopsy site, is not surprising. All sounds pretty good. Thanks for the update.

    3. As good as could be reasonably expected.

I have checked what the Mayo Clinic says about treating bladder cancer. It seems fairly certain they actually cut out the cancer and the injection is intended to prevent recurrence.

  5. We got the remainder of the iris (both German and Japanese) in our yard cut back; the daylilies have been in bloom for a while, and the hibiscus are beginning to bloom. Hibiscus does well in full Fresno sun; our largest one is about seven feet high and wide, with flowers up to about 8 inches across. They are really big, strong plants, but they don't tolerate being transplanted; they might survive, but might not. The root bundle grows slowly.
