Oh sure, Graham doesn't have to testify until after Election Day and DT's taxes are on hold until after Election Day, but the Fed is raising interest rates for the 4th time this year just 6 days before Election Day, to send the markets and voters whirling?
The Fed is supposed to be an independent agency, but that doesn't mean they need to be heedless. It would be nice if the stock markets were not hypochondriac, but it is certainly customary.
George Friedman predicted years ago ["The Storm Before The Calm"] that we were in for a notably rough period with both the economic and political cycles turning this year or hereabouts. So far he sure is right; I sincerely hope the rest of his prediction is on the mark.
There is little new under the sun; venemous politics have visited us before, and also self-destructing political parties. I gather that some traditional conservatives are hoping to build a new conservative party; I think that the right wing of the Democratic Party might also provide recruits. Some group of more or less traditional conservatives might take over the remainders of the Republican Party machinery, but I think it is too far gone for that.
listener, from yesterday: No, they neither had to skip the draw or come again--I relented, the third try was the charm. Hurt like hell, but gave up the blood. Both arms aching a bit, but not beyong bearing. She gave the flu shot in my right arm, cause she thought it would cause less problems, she was wrong. I can find the booster shot, I can;t forget the flu one. . . .
I remember when they were placing a central line in my arm for chemotherapy. They used an ultrasound gizmo to help locate the appropriate vein, but couldn't pin it down--it kept rolling back and forth over an artery, which was potentially dangerous. After the first try I had a good idea what to expect, so was reasonably cool with it. They were talking about having it done by a radiologist when the third nurse asked if I would mind her looking at my other (right) arm and I said go ahead. In that arm the vein lay nicely alongside (albeit above) the artery, and the central line went in just fine-- piece of cake.
Trump Org Suddenly Settles With Protesters Beat Up by Its Security Guards [Click] “Defense lawyers made the last-minute decision after struggling to find Bronx jurors who didn’t have strong feelings about Trump and his eponymous company.” Not an uncommon MO for Trump--delay as long as possible, in any ways possible, then fold like a cheap suit. May we witness much more of the same!

ReplyDeleteWell, that's more than enough fun for one day! It sounds like you could be a good candidate for having blood drawn with a "butterfly" needle.
