    1. I hadn't heard of it before; sounds like a very bad dietary idea.

  3. Vaccinated Americans Can Travel Safely [Click]
The CDC said that Americans who are fully vaccinated can travel “at low risk to themselves,” both within the United States and internationally, but they must continue to take precautions like wearing a mask in public, avoiding crowds, maintaining social distancing and washing hands frequently, the New York Times reports.

“Vaccinated Americans do not need to get a coronavirus test before arriving in another country, unless required to do so by authorities at the destination, and they do not need to quarantine after returning to the United States unless required to do so by local jurisdictions.”

  5. The US dollar’s hegemony is looking fragile [Click] But I still maintain that China’s declining working-age (and military service-age) population is an ever-tightening brake on their ambitions, which they cannot offset with immigration.

    2. Sounds like mental illness. [Click] And the toll was limited by the fact the assailant did not have a firearm.

  8. Long story short. After two weeks of solid improvement, last two days, left knee decided to flip out, in a most serious and painful way, screwing up all the good work done with balance and stretching etc. Piriformis reverted to ground zero with astonishing speed, leaving me in what can only be described as screaming, cursing, angry pain. Doc's office closed for holiday. Pharmacy open, and suggested I use the backup extension to leave message. Which was in fact swift. Got new course of muscle relaxants and prednisone. Friend of the good neighbor picked up and delivered meds.

After initial upright sleep, was able to sleep lying down, water retention in legs receded, pain, both knee and piriformis/sciatic nerve receded, got three and a half hours of good sleep, and woke, pretty much no longer in pain. Feeling nothing but hugely blessed. ♥

    1. I watch news of all variants very closely. The numbers have been scary these past few weeks, even here in Vermont! It helps so much having already been vaccinated. I can't express what a relief that is. One more week until I'm "clear."

  10. There’s a new lawsuit attacking Obamacare — and it’s a serious threat [Click] At least with respect to preventive care. It seems like there is an easy workaround, though—just have a Cabinet member rather than a panel make the decisions.

  12. Heads uo for anyone taking lotsa pain meds. A lot of those meds are antipyretics. Meds we give children to bring fevers down. As I was sitting huddled and frozen and shivering, and in pain, it was the pain that fixed me. It wasn't until after the pain had begun to abate that I began to wonder. So with my new wunnerful non-battery tube thermometer, I took my temp. 96.2º--no damn wonder I felt cold. I *was* cold!! Just be aware.
