[Picky: “Biden’s campaign is reaping the rewards from both Trump’s dismal performance and O’Malley Dillon’s deliberative approach.” “Deliberative” doesn’t seem to make any sense. Maybe “deliberate” was intended.]

  3. Climate change most likely cause of woolly rhino extinction [Click] Like mammoths, whose food was killed off by glaciers? Maybe the rhinos didn't taste good, either.

    1. I just stepped outside to check the mail and yikes! It's hot! Feels higher than reported; humidity is high (for us): 29%.

    2. Per current (noon) weather report: 102 deg F, feels like 108 deg F, projected high 108 deg. So I suppose (?) that means at 108 it should feel like 114? That's like Phoenix. It's not record heat, but close to it.

    3. 3:30 PM: 107 deg, "feels like 113." 21% humidity, "Tomorrow's temperature is forecast to be MUCH WARMER than today." Jeez. Following nine days predicted highs 111, 110, 112, 110, 107, 104, 105, 106, 105 deg. That’s about as hot as it gets in Fresno; I think it has been some time since we had such a run of high temperatures.

News note: A 15-year-old boy with no underlying conditions has died in Georgia after contracting COVID-19, the Atlanta Journal Constitution reports.
The boy’s death comes as many Georgia school districts have reopened for in-person learning.

  7. Kid arrived yesterday, filled the kitchen water keeper, then the 110 stock tank. Was close--pump broke last time, leaving me with a quarter tank. today, it's rained all day and water is over the bridge.

  8. 110 gallon stock tank. Water is too muddy to use if it's over the bridge )and usually for some days after).

Gorgeous flowers, Alan. Much prettier than the Rose of Sharon the make do for us in cold climates.

  10. I thought this one was purple, but it is what it is. The flowers are about 6-7 inches across, wilt almost immediately upon cutting, and only last for a day on the bush. But there are more the next day, and they do famously in direct sun here in Fresno. One didn't take, and another was indisposed for a year after we moved it. The biggest bush is about six feet tall and just as wide. One keeps experimenting to see what grows well where.
