  3. Common Dreams: With Detailed Pay-For Plan, Warren Touts Medicare for All as 'Bigger Than the Biggest Tax Cut' in US History [Click] Works for me. More detailed, I think, but about the same as what Bernie is proposing. Also about the same as what Otto von Bismarck got through the Reichstag in 1883. It’s worth noting that was the easiest and therefore first of Bismarck’s social legislation, not the last—unlike the US, which put Social Security first. By far.

    1. Interesting. I'm guessing that small employers and freelances will be exempt from the tax, as small employers are currently exempt from the requirement to provide health insurance for their employees. And thinking about how people's out-of-pocket expenses can vary widely under the present system, it suddenly occurred to me that Penny and I are paying a combined $9000 to $10,000 a year out of pocket under current Medicare (Part B, Part D, and Medigap). That would presumably go away under Medicare for All.

    2. That shouldn't be too hard to take--even paying income taxes on it.

  5. Just thinking about DT moving to Florida, presumably for protection from tax fraud prosecutions. Florida proved inadequate as a bolt hole for Al Capone.

    1. Thinking further, Al Capone also suffered from progressive mental decline.
