    1. Mine is bigger than yours.

Or maybe not. Sixty-nine thousand! Delusional on overdrive!

On a different topic: Dad just called to cancel my endoscopy. Well, I hope he postponed and rescheduled it, but in any case, he doesn't want to be driving in the snow at dusk, as it would have been. That's a relief, actually. I was concerned he might insist on going. He made it home from grocery shopping before the snow got too heavy, so we're all set.

  2. Hi Cat--Discretion is the better part of valor; good for your dad. Today we have no rain predicted, but then three days of it. I will try to get one fruit tree pruned this afternoon; I MIGHT be able to pull off two, or spray the peaches. I am scheduled to make grilled cheese sandwiches for lunch.

    1. Grilled cheese sandwiches make an excellent lunch.

Well, in the Middle Ages a lot of extraneous daughters, and sons as well, were given to the Church without their consent. That's why you hear so many stories of parish priests, and right on up, having mistresses and children. It wasn't as easy or as acceptable for nuns to misbehave. Sadly, it wouldn't surprise me to find that suicide and faked death were relatively common.

  4. Did I tell you guys? Over the weekend I signed up for an online masterclass in story telling (read writing) with Neil Gaiman. I think it may be hard, but very exciting.

BTW Does anyone know anything about MicroSoft Office Binder? Mine keeps telling me it can't save due to insufficient memory. That's obviously not true, but the guts of Win 10 are so effectively hidden, I cant begin to find what the real problem might be. Binder is convenient for keeping closely related items, like exercises for a class, together and more or less organized. But looks like I won't be using it for this class. :(

    1. VERY cool about the masterclass, Catreona!!!!!

As to MicroSoft, I use a Mac, so I googled it and found this:

Q: error message, Word says it can't save document, insufficient memory

A: That error almost never has anything to do with the amount of memory available.

What is happening is that Word is failing to write the file to disk. The only indication it gets from the OS is "Write Failed", and the only reason Word can think of is that you may be out of memory.

In fact, it's likely to be a corrupt document. If Word can't correctly ready the code in the document, it is unable to save it.

      A Maggie may cure it:

      The Maggie:

      1. Create a new blank document in .docx format
      2. Carefully select all of the text in the bad document EXCEPT the last
      paragraph mark
      3. Copy it.
      4. Paste in the new document.
      5. Save under a new file name and close all, then re-open.

This technique for de-corrupting is known as "Doing a 'Maggie'", after
Margaret Secara from the TECHWR-L mailing list, who first publicised the
      technique.

      Hope this helps
