  1. I've started reading the Fusion GPS transcript released by Senator Feinstein
So far I'm up to page 54 (there are over 300). Definitely worth reading.

    1. What wonderful news! Thanks, Alan!
"lawyers in favor of DACA clearly demonstrated that the young immigrants “were likely to suffer serious, irreparable harm” without court action. The judge also said the lawyers have a strong chance of succeeding at trial."

  3. Vermont Senate Passes Marijuana Legalization Bill, Which Now Heads To Gov. Scott
    http://digital.vpr.net/post/vermont-senate-passes-marijuana-legalization-bill-which-now-heads-gov-scott

The Vermont House passed the measure last week.

Gov. Phil Scott has said he will sign the legislation. When he does, Vermont will become the first state to legalize marijuana through the legislative process. The eight states which have also legalized it have done so by citizen referendum.

If Scott signs the bill into law, it would take effect on July 1, 2018.

    1. The law will allow Vermonters to possess up to 1 ounce of marijuana and grow up to two mature plants.

    2. California really bungled its medial marijuana law and its implementation--probably in no small part because it was done by referendum. It is too early to opine about recreational marijuana, but the auguries are not unmixed. I hope (and expect that) Vermont has learned from other states' mistakes. There are things to be said for not going off half-cocked. I hope they did not legalize concentrates--those can be very dangerous.

    1. Have a great time in Bean Town! I hope this weekend's storm isn't more than rain down there. We're expecting 3-5" of snow and some ice up here.

Reflecting further on the reports of dust clouds rather than a megastructure around Tabby’s Star, I am a little annoyed that those killjoy scientists, having exterminated every martian civilization, are now spreading their depredations throughout the galaxy.

    1. I believe it was Catreona who mentioned the book, Alan.

I am not planning to read this one. I'm still working on The Dangerous Case of Donald Trump by Bandy Lee.

    2. I thought it might have been Cat, but was too lazy to look it up. Great for the author and publisher of the WWII book, though! I think the new book looks altogether too Facebooky; not my cuppa. Neither am I about to take Oprah for President (or supporters) the least bit seriously.
