Easter Wednesday

  1. One of my friends on Facebook posted this excerpt from Bernie's recent speech:

Excerpt from Bernie's landmark speech last night:

"Today all over this country millions of people are hurting very badly. That is the simple truth, but it is a simple truth that has been too often ignored, even by Democrats.
All over this country, people are asking if there is anyone in Washington, anyone in the media, anyone in the establishment who understands what it is like to work two or three jobs, become exhausted and not have time for your kids.
All over this country workers are asking themselves, "Does anybody in corporate America understand what it means when a worker works 20 or 30 years on a job and one day walks into the plant and hears that his or her job is going to China or Mexico despite the fact that the corporation is profitable?"
Does anybody in Washington know what it feels in your heart to lose a decent paying job at the age of 50..."

    1. Strong stuff. Definitely not the twaddle we have long since come to expect from "Democratic" politicians.

    2. Bernie truly understands. His family had it hard and he has never forgotten his roots. He is humble and willing to listen. EVERY DAY I wish he were our President! And I say this already being blessed to have him as my Senator! Vermonters stated strongly recently that we are happy to share Bernie with the country, not feeling he "should" be focusing just on Vermont's needs. I was never so proud to be a Vermonter!!

  2. The Huffington Post article this morning seems to imply that Fulton County got its vote counting problems fixed sooner than expected. It reports that Osoff got 48.1% of the vote and other Democrats on the ballot got a total of about 1%. Georgia Election. There will be a runoff June 20. meanwhile, Bernie has thrown his weight behind a Democrat in a Montana special election.

    1. The article briefly touches on the quite limited role of Our Revolution in this election. It occurs to me that I have in fact heard very little from them. I wonder why?

    2. Are you on their mailing list, Bill? I get messages from them often.

    3. I'm sure I remember making a contribution early on. Maybe, somehow, that wasn't enough to get me on their mailing list? Would seem strange.

  3. Jean-Luc Mélenchon should be French president. Here’s why[Click]
Title[Click] “The leftwing politician is not out to destroy Europe: he is out to save it. La France Insoumise proposes a peaceful revolution towards a fair democratic society”

Cartoon version of Mélenchon’s program[Click] [in French—Google can’t translate the graphics into English.] I must say that I enjoy the lead picture! [Note: I gather that the name of the ship is derived from the candidate’s nickname.]

Well, back to my work simulation.

    2. Upon reflection, I suppose that the young woman on the bowsprit,[Click] holding the [apparently happy] chicken, would be Marianne[Click]
