Resistance is first. It's only been three weeks. It feels like three eons.
Probably seems much longer to the current resident of the White House. Here is that New Yorker review of Sen. Warren's 2014 book. [Click] She sounds pretty darn good! The person for our times, in fact. I wish I had some handle on her grasp of foreign affairs. Do you have any idea, Cat? Or anybody?--Alan
I was able to find some stuff on Warren's foreign policy positions. Basic, humdrum, me-too conventional US wisdom; nothing particularly perceptive. OK, I guess, although better would be good.Trump Caves on ‘One China’ Policy [Click] So all the President of China has to do to make "the leader of the free world" reverse course is to NOT GIVE HIM A PHONE CALL? [Click] Gee, Trump sure is a tough guy, huh?--Alan
Vermont legislature creates tri-partisan bill that would mitigate federal immigration order.(Note that the effort started with our Republican governor.)http://www.burlingtonfreepress.com/story/news/politics/2017/02/09/governor-lawmakers-push-bill-block-religious-registry/97692260/

Clearly worse the George III, whose madness (probably bipolar disorder) came and went. [Click]Impeachment? 46%/46% after only three weeks… [Click]Hmmmm…past is prologue, non? Quoted from Josh Marshall at talking points memo:We are hearing again now that the repeated protests and aggressive questioning at Republican townhalls is Democrats taking a page from the Tea Party playbook of 2009 and 2010. People have short memories. The real reference is to 2005 when Democrats turned out at Republican townhalls to protest President Bush's plan to partially phaseout Social Security. Those protests (or in many cases simply turnout) helped kill the plan by scaring off congressional Republicans. They also presaged the Democratic blowout in the 2006 midterms. It was 2005 that Tea Partiers (and the GOP pressure groups organizing them) explicitly referenced in 2009.—Alan
"Clearly worse the..." should read "Clearly worse than..."Alan
Everybody remember that tonight's the night for binoculars and telescopes! 💫🌒🔭Full Moon, Eclipse and Comet!http://www.usatoday.com/story/tech/sciencefair/2017/02/07/penumbral-lunar-eclipse-snow-moon-comet/97593778/>As for my house...they're saying overcast then snow. =SIGH= I hope some of you can see it.
In defense of George III, [Click] when the mania was not upon him he was clearly a intelligent, conscientious king, who preferred “a frugal existence on his country estates to the expense and pomp of court life.” Doesn’t sound at all like King Donald, does it?—Alan
