  1. Slow day on the blog, eh?

Brave water defenders are first. Veterans who are going to form a human shield between them and the militarized Morton Co. police are also first.

Apparently it slipped my mind (such as it is), but the Morton Co. Sheriff's Dept.'s threat to stop and fine anyone bringing supplies into camp was quickly scrapped in t he face of protest. That's one good t hing, anyway.

  2. Here is an article about the Pitt Rivers Museum. [Click] I read a more extensive article about it years ago, but this will do for starters, certainly. Extraordinary!

  3. Super busy, and surely very long day at work today. My cough seems to have significantly abated as the mold count has gone down.

  4. Animal is my favorite Muppet. I think he might be my spirit animal.

    1. I laughed outright! :-D Animal is also our Wildlife Biologist son's Muppet spirit animal. He used to imitate him perfectly, from the time he was really little! LOL!!

  5. For me it wasn't so much a slow day on the blog as a fast day off the blog! I was awake during the night for awhile, grappling with some interior work in advance of a spiritual guidance meeting today. I'm one of the spiritual leaders who nurtures the spiritual leaders, who need to be ready to nurture their congregations in this time of national political turmoil and personal upheaval. Little by little I am coming through. The bottom line for me is that God is still present. I don't have answers, but I am able to hear and speak the questions. I do deeply believe we are heard and we are loved and that good will come out of this terrible ordeal, if we stay close to love. I think my heaviness of heart is a companioning of God's own heart. I believe we co-create the future with God, and that humans have made a muck of it. But, God the Contingency Planner says, "This isn't what I hoped for you, but, we can work with this." Onward.

    1. As always, Listener, you are wise and eloquent. Thank you. ♥

I do not envy your calling right now! Being an inept blogmaster is far less demanding. We all do our bit, some smaller and some larger, and somehow it all fits together into the mosaic...or something.

  6. I find that Peter Yarrow's words from November 10th stay with me...

"We must focus with ever greater determination on doing 'the work'. The measure of our success will depend upon the strength of our hearts, our love for one another, and our commitment to the principles in which we believe. We must listen to the words and hearts of those with whom we are at odds, empathize with their narratives, and help to relieve their pain and distress. That does not mean, however, that we can or should forbid ourselves to be outraged by acts that seek to injure or destroy justice, fairness, liberty, or the goodness that is within us. Notwithstanding, we must be less preoccupied with what’s wrong and more focused on what it is that we need to create. Onward my friends, with ever greater resolve." ~ Peter Yarrow

  8. Please note there will be three posts tomorrow, Saturday, at 1:00 a.m., 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. EST. There's a lot going on and I want to try to cover as much as possible. But, don't get used to it! :)
