    1. “a situation Clinton herself is only exacerbating by doing dodgy things on the campaign trail, like lying about Sanders' auto bailout vote, refusing to release her speeches to Wall Street tycoons, and calling into question the authenticity of photographic and video evidence of Sanders fighting for civil rights in the 1960s.”

Boy I had missed that one. It was splashed on the front page of our local newspaper that she had accused him of supporting the “Minuteman” vigilantes and he hit right back. That impressed me as a sign HRC is gripped by severe apprehension, if not panic. This is more evidence of frank panic.

Here’s [Click] the Politico cartoon show of the day—the first one seems particularly relevant to this discussion.

    2. Love the cartoon. The only problem is that, just as she did against Obama, when Hillary gets scared she gets REALLY mean, so you ain't seen nothin' yet.

    3. Of the cartoons, I particularly liked the 8-9 duo. ESPECIALLY the final panel.

  3. Illinois matters. Bernie is campaigning in Chicagoland today, while Hillary did so yesterday. Bill, who had campaigned in Chicagoland earlier, is in downstate Peoria today.

    1. Should have mentioned that Cruz and Trump are also in Chicagoland today.

  4. Checking in--all OK here, just tired. I was in San Diego Thursday--got up at 5:00 AM, returned home about 9:00 PM. Airplane ca in pressure must have been lower than usual when cruising; I couldn't completely equalize the pressure in my ears during landing approach, and others said the same thing when I mentioned it as a possible cause for the little kid (one or maybe two years old) who was having a rough time.

The San Diego airport has a new rental car setup--the smoothest I have ever seen. Instead of a shuttle for each company coming by maybe every 15-20 minutes, there is one bus coming around at each (of two) terminals about every five minutes, and they load them up pretty well. Then the buses go to a single big new parking garage with an office in front for each car rental company. Even better for me (I didn't know in advance), since the Public Defender reserved the car, I could just go straight up to the second floor, give my name at a special desk, select a car from the ones on offer, and zoom away. Coming back, everyone goes in the same entrance, then follows the signs to their return queues. Then hop on the shuttle back to the appropriate terminal. Easy-peasy.

I was at liberty from noon, but rather than take along a laptop so I could stop by and schmooze, I took study materials for the continuing education I need to keep my professional license. I took care of about 5 or 6 hours' worth of the 17.5 more I need by the end of September.

Raining here today, likely to continue off and on for several days. We have already had a bit more than the old average annual rainfall.

    Back to work.

    1. "ca in pressure" = "cabin pressure"

  5. Gorgeous day here! Door's been open all day, which Beau loves--he can come in or go out at his pleasure.

  6. Holy Cow! Very light rain much of the day, and now the heavens have opened up--pouring rain and thunder. Must be coming down more than an inch an hour at the moment.

  7. Very glad I didn't go to that protest outside the auditorium. But lack of time was the least of the reasons I didn't.
