Clear Blue Sky

10 comments:

  1. How ironic that I put up a clear blue sky photo for today. LOL!
We are having bands of rain and are under a high wind warning today! The rain has returned (our windows on the south side are plastered with wetness), and the wind is picking up. Our lights have flickered a few times. The trees are dancing. Also, a tree was down on Rte 15 a few hours ago, a half mile from here. Strange weather for January!

    And Howard is still First.

  2. As the high wind warning expired, we got thunder and lightning for about 40 minutes. Now it seems the storms is clearing out at last.

  3. We had a mixture of blue sky and clouds today; we did some pruning and had to peel off a couple layers of clothing! Next rain expected Wednesday.

  4. Wow, pruning in January. My mind can't quite wrap around that. When is the dormant time for your plants?

    1. Dormant for most fruit trees would be about November through February--but roses never go into full dormancy. The difference in climate between the south and north sides of our house is about two zones. We don't have to wear snowshoes while pruning...

I used a combination of Volk Oil and lime sulphur dormant spray for decades, but since some dumb kids used it to commit suicide a few years back one can't buy it without a pesticide applicator's license.

[Currently irritated that I can't (yet) find a GE cooktop like our old one, which needs to be replaced after only about 25 years...]

  5. Alan ~ I got your email (mentioned on the last thread) before I saw your blog message!

I am very patchy with the computer and iPhone right now as I am marathoning on the baby quilt for the wee fellow who is due 3.5 weeks! And I'm not half done yet!

Bill ~ which day is Bernie's speech? I think I missed his message.

    1. Bernie gives several speeches every day, so I'm not sure which one you are referring to. There seems to be quite a bit of attention being paid to what he said during his live call to DFA on Thursday.

I haven't gotten any message about a particularly important upcoming speech.

    2. Here is the announcement, listener:

      Dear Alan,
This campaign has always been about winning. We set out to build a political movement and organize massive voter turnout necessary for victory. With your help we're doing just that — organizing in record numbers in every state in the nation.
As a result — and to the disbelief of the corporate media and the political establishment — Bernie is on the verge of scoring historic upsets in Iowa and New Hampshire.

On January 23, Bernie wants to deliver a live video message to you, his hardest working supporters. With just a week before the Iowa caucus, followed soon after by the New Hampshire primary, it will be time to get focused with laser precision on the work necessary to pull off victory in the early states and beyond.

Whether it's at home with a few friends or in a public venue with a few hundred, will you help organize this giant event for Bernie?

Democrats will win the 2016 presidential election if massive numbers of voters turn out, including voters who too often sit out on Election Day. Bernie, backed by millions of active supporters, is our best chance for winning the White House.

The inspiring work you've been doing to share Bernie's message with voters has put victory within reach. But if we're going to help Bernie win the nomination there's much more to do.

Bernie is going to lay that out for us on January 23. Whether it's at a local theater, library meeting room, pub, or a volunteer's living room, Bernie wants to talk to you at 6 PM Eastern / 5 PM Central / 3 PM Pacific.

We want as many supporters as possible to have a chance to gather with fellow volunteers and hear Bernie's message.
There will be a live stream for you to tune into to hear Bernie deliver a special message directly to supporters. If you can host an event — either at a public venue or at your home — we need you to get more info and sign up today.
If you can't host an event, please save the date and we'll be sending you information soon about events near you.
