  2. And now Ted Cruz is spamming my inbox. Do you suppose these Republicans are emailing every registered voter in the country?

    1. Apparently they know they're licked in Vermont, because I haven't had a single note from the Republicans.

  3. I've been away for two days at Squam Lake (of On Golden Pond fame) in NH. This was a peer retreat and meeting. It was very good to be there and I will say more about it after I have slept. Related photos at some point, too.

While I was there, Wildlife*Biologist*Son ran the Boston Marathon in just under 3 hours!! It's his best personal time, too, so he's very happy. Amazing, really, as it was in the 40's, raining, with a 15-20kt headwind!!

    1. Yes, the weather was more suitable for November than for April. *sigh*

      Well done to WLB*son!

  4. There's a Place That's Nearly Perfect for Growing Food. It's Not California. [Click] Mother Jones

Factoid: Despite using 80-85% of California's water, agriculture accounts for only two percent of the state's GDP.

And completely off-topic, the reports of HRC's outings in Iowa seem absolutely bizarre. It's as if her handlers are afraid to let her have contact with ordinary citizens. IMO that ain't no way to run a campaign.

Good news about our septic tank--no roots in it. Pumping was all it needed (after 20 years).

Bill--for the past couple of months or so we have been getting the Wall Street Journal with our morning local paper--no idea why. Boy, it has really gone downhill since Rupert bought it; there's so little worth reading in it that it just goes straight into the recycling bin. No noticeable uptick in political gimmie letters here, Dem or Reep. Somewhere I saw Rubio and Cruz derided as The Great Brown Nope(s).
