  3. The mountain looks exactly like this today. And it's cold here. presently about 6F, and feels like -11F. Snow moving in on Tuesday and we're counting on a foot of it by the end of the week.

  6. Big staff meeting today.
    I began working at the Library 5 years ago today.
    After 5 years, you get an extra week of vacation.
    On Saturday, I learned that the Trustees are considering dropping the vacation benefit.
    Even if they don't, it kind of drained the joy out of my little anniversary.

  7. Let's hope the trustees think better of such an idea, listener. That's no way to motivate people or to gain their loyalty, and the benefit may very well not cost them a dime. In most places, when someone is on vacation the people remaining just work a little faster.
