    1. A day late -- that was yesterday. And as it turned out, many people in the Chicago area took far too much care. As it got dark, DARK between 4 and 5 pm, some people took off work early to head home. Me? I headed downtown for the scheduled Disability Pride Parade committee meeting. Impressive thunder and lightning, but no more than a sprinkle of rain and the only wind was a gentle breeze off the lake. which, I now read, was the point: The low pressure drew in cool air off the lake that essentially aborted the predicted thunderstorms.

    2. Until the next worst one.

Not making light of this. It definitely sounds serious. But one does get a little bit blase when all one hears is superlatives all the time.

    3. I'm glad, Bill!

Was anyone else at your scheduled meeting, or only you?

    4. Oh, yes. A couple of people called in on the speakerphone who would normally have attended in person, but there were about a dozen there including several for the first time.

  2. First growl of my blundertigers! The radar is truly sobering. If I lose electric and disappear, won't surprise me. . . .

    2. Most of it seems to be going either North, or South of us. With a bit of snuggles to the East or West. This is what's happening now, according to the weather guys: Light Thunderstorm Rain

  3. Vivie Kitty is back in her basket. Dad found her there when he brought her tuna this morning. Everybody is greatly relieved. For her part, she's busy sleeping. *grin*
