Plein Air

The artist, Don Hopper, gave me permission to take this photo.  He's such an encouraging soul, too!

  2. Just so you know, puddle is having technical difficulties posting, but she is okay.
Apparently she can read online but can't post or respond. Doesn't know why.

So I guess it's not time to call Sheriff Puff.
But maybe it's time to send in a Geek posse?

  4. We sure do get spoiled; it wasn't so long ago that we communicated by letters, and cross-country exchanges between two parties would take upwards of a week, minimum. Telegraph was only for VERY important things, and telephone ditto. I can remember my father counting the number of characters in a telegraph message. That said, we use e-mail and blogs in very much the same way that Sherlock Holmes used the telegraph. Send a message, get the response when we are inclined to look for it. The main difference is that we don't need street urchins to act as go-betweens.

  5. Na. I can here; just not at Jo's. Have NO idea why. Problem is, once I give up there, I tend to forget to come back here (which is the tab I keep next to it), and just go elsewhere to do stuff.

Alan, I have often thought that email functions the same in our stories/lives as that lost note the urchin didn't deliver did. . . . Most people seem to believe that email just works. Given my history with the 'nets, I sorta kinda tend to believe that *this* time something got lost. . . . and of course, often it did.
