My yard this past week...

  1. Well, that *was* my yard. Today we have big, puffy snowflakes falling. The coastal storm anticipated for Friday into Saturday might postpone our Valentines Party for our Grands by a couple of weeks. =Sigh= Oh well, into every life some snow must fall. ;-),

  2. Out here the hillsides are a nice green and the sheep, cattle etc. are grazing. Despite an average snowpack in the mountains, the rainfall hasn't been the best for the grass, and it is rather short. In the Bay Area we saw acacias in bloom, and also what appeared to be the spreading sort of flowering pear and early varieties of flowering plum starting to bloom, but the climate is warmer there. Off to Hayward again today (same case as yesterday).

In The Guardian yesternight I saw a photo of a reconstruction of the face of the skeleton under the carpark that was made by a reconstructionist working without any portraits or other information to guide her, except at the end when she made use of the information about Richard's eye color, hairstyle and the hat in the earliest portraits. Put alongside the earliest portraits (copied from originals now lost), the resemblance is remarkable.

  3. Bad couple of days. Better/worse. But doesn't seem like it's recovering. . . The more I try to lean out of the pain, the more I lean into some other kind of pain. I'm going to try the morphine tonight, and see if that helps, at all.

  4. I'm really rather worried about you, puddle. ♥
Gonna go put Sheriff Chuck on speed dial.

  5. Oh Noes!

I just discovered that Sheriff Chuck must have retired or something because the current name of puddle's sheriff appears to be Sheriff Kevin Puffenberger.

Hereafter referred to as Sheriff Puff!

And I've got his number in my iPhone now. ;-)

    1. Also, I've given his phone number to Kimmy. ;-) It was Kimmy on the west coast who phoned Sheriff Chuck years ago at that same time I did from the east coast, causing him to go over to puddle's house and check on her for us when we hadn't heard from her in so long. Now we'll know to call Sheriff Puff instead. Sure do hope someone out there is checking on ol' Sheriff Chuck as needed! LOL!

No fears, puddle. I'm just wanting to make you smile. Love you tons! ♥

  7. We slept in until 7 or 7:30 AM yesterday and today, i.e. until after sunrise. Nice! I could get used to it...
