Remember to Vote tomorrow!

  1. I can just hear Howard saying, "Remember to vote tomorrow," then flashing that grin and twinkle and adding, "unless, of course, you already have, and thank YOU!"

    :-D

Portlight is a charity that helps victims of hurricanes. They have a stellar reputation, and are presently focused on the needs of Sandy victims who have disabilities.

  3. Son is doing some online practice thing for election officials. Demetrius is in the office on a business call. I am tasked with keeping dogs quiet.

    1. Technically there are. However, Son tolerates NO noise from the dogs. Chewing on a Nylabone is objectionable, as is the crying that Perkins would emit if I put him in his crate.

    2. I'll bet you sometimes fantasize about swapping who exactly goes in the crate. ;-)

    3. No, I just think about him moving out. His caseworker is supposed to help us get him set up through something called "creative housing". But, like everything else, the process is very slow moving and requires a huge amount of patience.

Demetrius is so dedicated to being "easygoing" and "low pressure" with the kids that HE really taxes my patience sometimes.

  4. By this time tomorrow night, I'll know whether or not I got elected. Is it bad that I have barely been thinking about it ?

    1. I think I remember Howard saying that to get an A in citizenship you need to run for office. I don't recall him saying you need to get elected!

  5. :-D Thanks, Bill! I'd forgotten that!

Nice to think I got an "A' from Howard!

  6. I just left this message on Howard Dean's Facebook page:

    Dear Howard Dean,
Never thought I'd say this, but my name is on the ballot in Jericho, Vermont. This is largely thanks to you. It is also because I was asked to run while at the funeral for dear Lil Desso, and that I was asked to run by someone who can no longer run due to cancer treatments. Had you not stood up and said out loud "You have the power" and had I not seen you go out there and run even when it was hard, I don't think I could have done this. I volunteered during your Presidential Campaign, even answered the phones under Dina Wolkoff's guidance. And I've worked at the polls since 2004, but tomorrow I cannot, as mine is a contested election. If I lose, my life won't change. If I win, I'll get to serve my town and county and state as a JP. So I see that as a win-win situation. A Dean blogger friend just reminded me that you once said, "To get an "A" in citizenship you have to run for office." Thanks for the "A", oh Captain my captain! :-) listener
