Triple shadow from the Cat Tree...under which lie three dear pussems.

  2. We are expecting a bit of a storm here tonight and Saturday.
Allegedly, it will include 1-3" of sleet, freezing rain and snow,
along with 1/10th" of ice, plus high winds (gusts to 50-55mph).

And, lucky me, it's my turn to keep the walkways clear at the Library.
Hoping I can slide to work (and back) safely tomorrow.

But that concern sure pales in comparison to those devastated by the tornadoes!
My heart is with them. ♥

  3. Court in a neighboring county this (Friday) afternoon; nice view of the snow-covered crest of the Sierra Nevada on the way down, but by the time I returned the clouds had risen and covered them. Clear down here in the valley.

puddle--may your doowidget have a long and happy intimate relationship with its new partner.

  4. Escapee reporting in. We had one helluva thunderstorm last night. But the river, as nearly as I can tell simply didn't rise much. I checked before going up to bed at midnight, and it was only just barely sheeting over the bridge. This morning, only a skosh higher. My uproad neighbor's brother live in Tennessee, in one of the towns devastated by yesterday's tornadoes. They'd called in the middle of the storm to reassure her, and then she didn't hear for hours. So we wuz doin' some *heavy* prayin'. . . . They checked in around 10 -- their tornado lifted just before it go to them, then set down a block beyond them. Much gratitude all around.

Bright and blue and chilly here. But colder tomorrow and even more so Monday, when snow's predicted. Ah, Spring!

Alan: hoping love is better the second time around. . . . But really, I have no complaints -- Ludmilla is 17 going on 18, and is without a doubt the MOST reliable car I've ever owned. And that includes a Mercedes. Terrific gas mileage, too. She's allowed her minor aches and pains. Funny, I've been a Chrysler fan most of my life. The last Jeep (Shadowfax) extinguished that loyalty. Never thought much of Ford, but this little '95 Escort StaWag is a dream of reliability. Long may she run.

  5. Been one busy day here. Chilly but sunny. Comfortable, really, for working. And have been: all kind of odds n ends clean ups resorting carrying, fetching, the like. Water's almost gone again, so Weds looks like a good day for the project. Pretty cold between now and then though. Plenty to last that long.

  6. Very nice weather today, but I am still forbidden to work in the yard. Maybe in a couple more weeks. Knee definitely better--no problem with sitting in a swivel office chair for a long time, which was previously a problem.

Used some of my time to write a short paper for a journal; since the last paper I submitted to them they have changed to a computerized submission program, rather than just sending it by e-mail, and it was a LOT more trouble to submit than before. From that point on I suppose it is easier.

Hot bath, then more laziness. Don't imagine there will be anything newly significant going on in politics. I remain aghast at the way Obama has just taken GWB's foreign enemies list to heart and is leading the way to war with Iran. Iraq and Afghanistan were a stroll in the park by comparison, I think. I saw a story in the news yesterday that some research group or other figured out that the wars on Iraq and Afghanistan hurt the US economy... like who with the brains God gave a goose didn't know that from Day One? The decline of the US could have been slow with a soft landing, but it sure doesn't look like that will happen. I sure hope my crystal ball is on the fritz...

Hot bath, then more laziness. Will read a book.

  7. Uh oh. Sick.
Just barfed...and that's the one thing I do not do well.
Healing vibes, prayers and hopes greatly appreciated.

  9. Thanks. ♥

I seem to be stable now, which is a sweet improvement.
I do not do nausea well.
