    Happy birthday, puddle!

  6. Oops--meant to add to my post and deleted it instead. Included good wishes for Ms Bianca, comments on medical insurance prices, and stuff for listener about making raisins. [I doubt there is enough sun and heat in Vermont, and it definitely is not practical if one must purchase the grapes.] Anyone wants it repeated, say so and I will simulate it. Nice weather here--no need for air conditioning for several days.

  7. Well, I got to see it, Alan. And a winner of a post it was, lol! Sorry it got lost.

  8. Happy Birthday, Miss puddle!

  9. Ah, thank you all for the birthday wishes! Having a good one. Warm (inside), peace, happy calm animals, friends from all over. Good indeed.

  10. Glad you've had a good day, Puddle.

So, I'm not the only one Echo hates? Sorry about that, Alan.

Bianca has had a quiet day. As far as I know, she hasn't thrown up any more and is her usual placid self, but we're still worried. She was so sick a few months back and was spared to us. We can't expect another miracle like that...which doesn't mean I can't hope.

  11. Dad just told me that he doesn't have any hope for Bianca. I wouldn't believe Mum, she's so m melodramatic, but Dad is a different story.

  12. Higz! I know it doesn't help much, but it's there.

    I saw it too. Interesting.

  15. Cat--Echo didn't do it to me, I clicked on "delete" rather than on "reply." Hoping for Ms Bianca.

My sympathies. But, like listener, I'm wondering what the vet has to say.

    ReplyDelete
  17. She hasn't been taken to the vet. The thinking is, and I share it wholeheartedly, that the vet will charge an exorbitant amount of money and make her uncomfortable and miserable and in the end have nothing helpful to say. Such has been our experience in the past with other kitties. So, we're just doing the best we can, trying to keep her quiet and as comfortable as possible.

Thank you all very much for the good wishes. They help.

  18. We had a nice time with VT*Granddaughter thus afternoon at the Shelburne Museum. It was good balm, because we began the day with breakfast on the back porch, remembering Emma-cat, then with our little rite we buried her ashes under the Poplar tree in the back yard, alongside Mittens and Maggie. Having done so was actually a comfort. Emma has a nice stone, so now there are three. And the day was beautiful, perfect blue sky and a tad warmer than yesterday. Tomorrow promises to be similar. We miss her so much, but it doesn't hurt as much as it did at first. =^. .^=

  19. I sure do understand about the frustration of calling a pricy vet only to watch your cat get a mini-torture and not much help to show for it. If you already know what's wrong and it's incurable, then there's not much you can do. Still, with Emma the vet was able to determine that she had hyperthyroidism and the med she prescribed granted Emma almost two more years of life than she would have endured. She also had difficulty moving around, which was located mostly in her spine, so the vet recommended an herbal remedy made right here in Vermont (Glycoflex) which eased Emma's last year. But, as I say, if you already know what it is and there is no help for it, then it makes sense just to keep her comfy.

  20. It's okay. I can get a fruit dryer if I want to do it enough.

  21. Thanks for giving it a go, though!
