You are raising a loving creature. That is more important than writing a best seller.

  6. SUPER tired after wildly busy day at the Library. =Whoo!=

So, it's nearly time to lock the doors and we have 5 patrons in line. The first steps up and says her two children have lost books she needs to pay for. So this is actually tending two patrons and it's a longer process than checking out a few books. Does she also want a receipt? Of course she does. The phone has rung and the patron wants to renew books over the phone, but I'm using the computer for another patron and have to put him on hold. We have half a cartload of books that we never had time to reshelve and more books waiting to be checked in. And now it's time to lock up. We hadn't even turned off the patron computers yet. Zany!! And did I mention that we don't get paid for the time we work after closing time? (Public library budget.) Zany!!

Glad to be home with theatre tickets for tonight!! :-)

"It seems to me that participation in a union activity should not disqualify anyone for anything in a free country...!! There ought to be a law clarifying same. "

There is such a law; has been since the 1930's. There are lots of laws.

puddle--I found that if I could wash with soap and water soon after getting into poison oak it would take care of it. In a pinch even mud and water helped. I do believe the toxic material is an oil.

Weather here like Summer in Fresno--90 and 100's; 107 degrees day before yesterday, which is hot. The 90's is comfy here because of the low humidity, especially if there is a bit of a breeze and one is in the shade. A good crop of Santa Rosa plums this year (as every year--a very reliable variety). Lots to eat, make into jam and syrup, and to share with friends. I'd better get in there with the shears and trim out the dead twigs while the tree is in leaf.

Off to the Bay Area tomorrow; a bit of shopping in San Jose, dinner and stay over night with Naomi in San Mateo. Her job is going well, she is getting valuable experience, promotions, good pay, and inquiries from other companies; everybody is hiring. And it has done wonders for her self-confidence. Really great. Then I have court in Oakland 9:30 Monday. And I am memorizing a great line from that SCOTUS decision in Bullcoming vs. New Mexico so I can lay it on attorneys as needed…

Now to see if I can move some songs from the iMac to Miyoko's iPod…
