  3. Hi..

Busy yesterday and today, no need to loose the Saint Bernards.

  4. Cat, I read the Silmarillion (don't know how to spell it) and didn't like it at all. Does that mean I won't like this one either? It's okay either way. My brother *did* like the Silmarillon, so I can just give the book to him if the prospects are gloomy.

  5. You probably won't like this one, especially considering that this tale is perhaps the darkest of all the tales in The Silmarillion. Yeah, I'd recommend giving the book to your brother.

  7. White rain ~~ The sound of pounding is incredible. Veritable roar!! The near green leaves, trees, against a background of white. Never lasts long enough, so I try ti enjoy it while it's happening. No blunder, no lightening -- just buckets of rain rain rain. Truly astonishingly beautiful!

  9. Speaking of summer. . . . If any one is likely (or even unlikely, but wishes to be prepared) this stuff is a miracle.

  14. Yeah. I found it heartening indeed.

Planting a tree when a baby is born sounds familiar. Can't remember where I've come across it before, but it is a splendid idear.

  18. ♡ Thanks, puddle. ♡

Nurse Teri tells me that a blood sugar of 19 = brain damage.
That's probably why the doctor was "compassionate" this time.

    Grrrr.

  19. Tonight on Larry King Live, Anderson Cooper showed photos of a Brown Pelican's nest that had broken eggs and a dead chick ~ all thanks to ignorant BP people on the shore.

I told this to Wildlife*Biologist son and he replied:
"Yeah, actually the cleanup and prep crews are wrecking huge chunks of nesting habitat by driving heavy equipment on the beach and building sand barriers to try to prevent oil from coming ashore. Probably a lot more nests and chicks lost to these crews than to the oil so far.

  20. He added:

"Though there might be something to be said for stopping the oil from coming into the marshes and accepting one season of lost reproductive success. Except that the stuff does not work anyway, most of the time."
