  1. The tremor in my hands has been weaker recently, and today as well as yesterday is completely gone. Using my stationary bicycle has definitely strengthened my legs.

Thought re the late Mr. Kirk---- if one goes looking for trouble, one just might find it.

    2. I read the text exchange between Mr. Kirk and his roommate. The roommate sounds completely sane...asked all the important questions and seemed genuinely shocked and concerned. Mr. Kirk was asked Why he did it. He said it was because some hatred can't be negotiated. Sad how he could only see that hatred in one direction but not his own toward Kirk.

    3. I saw a pithy meme the other day...

God grant me the Serenity to accept the people I cannot change
the Courage to change the one I can
and the Wisdom to know it's me.

    4. Listener, that text exchange was between Tyler Robinson, Kirk's alleged murderer, and his roommate. While the roommate does indeed seem completely sane, they are reportedly a trans individual so, of course, the extreme right is trying to paint them as not only complicit in Kirk's murder, but as a dangerous person in general. Disgusting!

    5. Ah yes! Thanks for catching that, Catreona!! This is what only two hours of sleep does to your cognitive functioning.
It is truly disgusting the way the radical right is painting Robinson's roommate. Why does everything have to be painful in this country? We need to reclaim our CIVIL society.

  2. Well, here I am with just two hours of sleep last night. Sigh. Didn't help that a neighbour has a new puppy they let out at 6am, who barked for an hour! We had a good conversation and it isn't likely to be an ongoing problem. They are training the pup to be a therapy dog, and hope to have the barking in hand in a week or so. VERY nice people.

But, just like when I tried it two years ago, this medication I am newly on is giving me thrush. It suggests that my immune system is low. (Ya think?!). So I'm taking the med and the cure together and we'll see if I can continue it.

The longer term solution is likely turbinate reduction via radiofrequency ablation. We'll see. ENT appt is Oct 20th, so I just need to get from here to there.

  3. Forgot to say it in the proper place, but I really liked yesterday's front page photo.

  4. Mizzen and Spinnaker had their annual vet visit today. Turns out Spinnaker's mast cell cancer diagnosis of last year didn't mention that there are two kinds...one that's aggressive and one that isn't. She has NO symptoms, so apparently she has the non-aggressive sort. So glad we didn't put her through surgery last year.

  5. Wil tells me that in the UK, when DT and M were with King Charlie and his spouse, a horse parading by stopped and took a dump in front of DT! 🤣
