  3. I did not rest easy today, but good things came of it. Wil and I got up early and went over to help out VT*Grand some more getting her apartment ready. The painting is accomplished except for a tiny bit that will happen after a wall gets moved. It's a nice efficiency-size apartment, with a raised ceiling in the middle. Yet she will have a 5' high refrigerator, sink with a window above it, stove, dishwasher and washer-dryer! It's very nice! The colours are two nice tones of green and soft white, natural woodwork, new dark toned luxury vinyl plank flooring, and very pretty countertops for the kitchen. She will also have an "island" that is moveable with two bar stools for seating to eat. Super comfy couch and chair with modular ottoman, and a big screen TV. The bedroom area is a raised area off in a corner, that adds a touch of privacy, and there's even two closets, a storage cubby and 3/4 bath!

  4. FCC chair threatens to throttle news broadcasts over ‘hoaxes’ about Iran war

The Trump administration’s communications licensing tsar fired a warning shot over the US broadcasting industry Saturday, threatening to cancel the spectrum permits of broadcasters pushing what he termed “hoaxes and news distortions”.

Federal Communications Commission (FCC) chair Brendan Carr posted on social media that broadcasters running “fake news – have a chance now to correct course before their license renewals come up. The law is clear. Broadcasters must operate in the public interest, and they will lose their licenses if they do not.”

The FCC has control over the electromagnetic spectrum, colloquially termed the airwaves, including “commercial and non-commercial fixed and mobile wireless services, broadcast television and radio, satellite and other services” under the Communications Act of 1934.

In his post on Saturday, Carr said without any evidence that it was in the news industry’s “own business interests since trust in legacy media has now fallen to an all time low of just 9% and are ratings disasters”.

He indicated he could use access to the broadcast and communications spectrum, which is considered a public asset, to rectify the issue, setting up another potential clash between the government and the media.

    2. So, he doesn't want any *real* news broadcast. Only the Fox-like propaganda. And he thinks that's going to help the legacy media's ratings? I don't bloody think so! Susan

  6. Also little accomplished today. My friend Jason and I went to an AT&T corporate store to try to solve my email problem only to be told the corporate back office is closed on weekends.
