Yesterday I met with my ENT doc and it went well. The easy in-office procedure I was hoping for apparently won't work for me. So my choices are to use a medicasted nasal rinse for 6 weeks and see if that takes care of the issue. If it does, I can slowly use less of it and do fine. If it doesn't, then I'll be having surgery in January that would make for a really yucky recovery for a week or two, but then I would be in much better condition for getting enough sleep at night. One has to try the med first...that's protocol. So I used it last night and slept a full 6 hours! That's good since I had only 3 hours of sleep the night before and it builds in effectiveness over time. So, that's the promised update.
Thanks, W.A.! I'll have to have my eye doc monitor my cataracts to ensure the med isn't exacerbating them. But as it's topical and most of it is washed away, it's probably okay.
We have heat pumps and use them year 'round, since they heat the house in Winter and cool the house in Summer. We also have a propane parlor stove that we use as needed during the coldest months, when the heat pumps would be working too hard to be efficient. We have electric backup, that came with the house, but don't use that, except on the coldest mornings to heat the bathroom when taking a shower.
I tell you this to tell you that last week the propane delivery happened. I can't recall how much porpane was delivered, but as we hadn't used any since last March or early April, I can't imagine it was much. So it was a head scratcher when the propane truck arrived again this morning and brought us 4.2 gallons of propane. Since we are in a buying co-op, the cost was just over $8. He may have spent more driving it here!
Last night I happened upon a weather.com article that was published just four days ago now, and discovered that it features a photo taken by my son Shiloh (aka PhD*Son), who died in June. It really warmed my heart that his work is still making a difference (!) and I was pleased to see that the person interviewed for the article was Shiloh's colleague Alan Kneidel, who gave Wil and me a tour of Manomet Conservation Sciences last month, and has volunteered to be my go-to guy with bird questions since we don't have our old guy anymore. Kind people rock!
'We're just gonna kill people': Trump says he doesn't need a declaration of war for strikes on suspected drug smugglers Guardian: Donald Trump’s statement on Thursday that he has no intention of asking Congress for a declaration of war ahead of possible strikes on suspected drug smugglers in Venezuela, “we’re just gonna kill people that are bringing drugs into our country”, thrilled his supporters but disturbed many Americans. Asked by a reporter if he intended to go to Congress, Trump suggested that his administration would brief lawmakers on the military operation, but said that he saw no reason to seek congressional authorization. -- nordy
We have recently had police actions rather than declared wars, but I am not aware of any major US action that wasn't at least retroactively authorized by Congress.
Illegally killing people without due process is not a police action. It's a crime. And other countries whose citizens are being killed see it more as an act of war. At what point does he foolishly start a war? He's bonkers, and must be stopped.

Indeed. Good to know and I'd love to start that boycott now. I already don't use T Mobile, shun Amazon and have a Macbook Air. I'd love to have that list!

In April, 3 million people protested
ReplyDeleteIn June, 5 million people protested
In October, 7 million people protested
The 3.5% Rule says we need nearly 12 million to protest, then we are unbeatable

Thanks for the update. Here's hoping the medication works.
