Hallo dear Bloggers! I made it through the night just fine, so hopefully I'm over the nosebleeds. Still not going to visit family in NH, though, because Youngest is dealing with a painful pinched nerve in his neck-shoulder area and hasn't slept much in two days. He's on meds but they can take a few days to work. After that he'll need PT. It's definitely work related because he spends sooo much time on computer.
MSNOW: In response to chants of “run again” at the National Action Network Convention, former Vice President Kamala Harris told the crowd she's considering it. MS NOW Reporter Maya Eaglin, MS NOW Political Analyst Juanita Tolliver and CT Insider Senior Data Editor and Columnist Philip Bump join Chris Jansing to discuss how the conference could layout Democrats’ road to 2028.
I'm not so sure about that. She was VP and it was a too short campaign and she never got to run in a Primary. Biggest question though is: whom else would you recommend?
Harris was too tightly tied to Biden's support for apartheid, genocidal Israel. Unless she can convincingly and permanently divorce herself from Israel and the Zionist lobby, she'll lose young people, the under thirty-fives especially. And I'm not sure she can, or will want to, do that. Both Reps and Dems are addicted to AIPAC money. If she can make a convincing break, show that she has the will and nerve to pull away from the bloodsucker that is Israel, she may have great success. She did remarkably well last time, despite all the disadvantages. But if she won't make that break, it doesn't matter how spectacular she is in other ways. She won't win.
I don't see anyone else as a plausible candidate, largely because nobody has the fire and the messaging we need. If only Bernie were fifteen years younger!
Pertinently: DNC rejects resolution condemning influence of pro-Israel Aipac lobby - Click So, there you are. The Dem establishment is stuck like glue to AIPAC, despite widespread dissatisfaction with that position among the rank and file. And that's just one instance in which the establishment is out of touch. If they can't get their act together, we're going to lose the midterms and lose '28. This is precisely why I have spent my entire adult life angry at the Democratic Party. Whatever shortcomings Biden may have had, he was a "real" Democrat in that he perceived his job to be to work for the people, not the goddamn lobbyists.
I agree about the Israel addiction. Interesting that Harris was at a Progressive event when they started chanting for her to run again. The next viable candidate needs to click with Progressives...since they are not dyed in the wool pro Israel. And I support the Israeli people...just not their leaders. It's a lot like America.
SPLASHDOWN happens at 8:07pm. Reentry begins about 20min sooner. Link to NASA: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m3kR2KK8TEs or watch on CNN. click here to go to NASA
Spectacular Artemis reentry and Splashdown! So happy and relieved they did so well! That six minute blackout during reentry always gets to me. Ah, but the trajectory of reentry was within 0.4%! And they splashed with One Mile of where planned. Amazing!
Have you heard about Congressman Eric Swallwell? Apparently, credible rape allegations have come out against him. Commentator Jack Cocchiarella is calling for him to drop out of the Calif. governor's race and resign from Congress. He's right. We don't need scum like that in the party!

ReplyDeleteSorry to say, I think Harris' time has come and gone.

I'm watching Labyrinth for a quiz I'm writing on it. Haven't seen it in ages. Good movie.
