    1. This long article is mostly about relations among the researchers with remarks about the nature of paleoanthropology. You have to dig to get the scientific details. The skull's original discoverer described it as belong to a bepedal creature while admitting that post-cranial materials were needed. Description of the apparently associated femur was delayed 20 years. One group asserts the creature was quadrupedal while the other says it was basically bipedal but also climbed trees. There is no way to tell which is right. But buried even deeper is the information that hominin status is no longer defined by bipedalism but by the structure of the jaw. And the skull's lower jaw is absent.
